Jason Day Asked to Cover Logo at the Farmers Insurance Open

It appears once more that Jason Day’s clothing choices are creating a buzz. According to Hypegolf, Malbon Golf’s ambassador was requested to conceal their logo on his windbreaker jacket prior to the commencement of round three at the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA TOUR. These images were snapped by an onsite fan.

In the same manner as he did during a previous scandal at the Masters Tournament last year, Day decided to take off the jacket shown and play his third round wearing a short-sleeved polo shirt beneath it instead. He then scored a 2-under-par 70 in that round and is now playing his final round.

It’s possible that the reason behind the request made by tournament officials was triggered by the sweatsuit worn by Day during the first round on Wednesday. The motive for their action is still not clear, but the unusual attire could be a factor.

The PGA TOUR has yet to respond to our request for comment.
