acclaimed director Sooraj Barjatya is widely admired for crafting Salman Khan‘s cherished on-screen character, Prem, a role that has become iconic in Indian cinema. More recently, Sooraj disclosed that he’s developing a new script to bring him and Salman together once more. In a recent chat, he voiced his enthusiasm about teaming up with Salman again, stating, “The upcoming project is in the works, and it will be on a more mature level.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya disclosed some details about his upcoming project featuring Salman Khan. He hinted that the venture is in the works, but it may take some time before it comes to fruition. Barjatya elaborated that due to their advanced age, he plans to develop a revised version of the beloved character Prem that suits Salman’s current phase of life.
He underscored that the new depiction would maintain the playful spirit, endearing qualities, and familial morals linked with Prem, while delving into a more sophisticated storyline. Barjatya admitted that this innovative approach was taking more time than anticipated to fine-tune.
In 1989, filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya cast Salman Khan as the archetypal Bollywood romantic lead in Maine Pyar Kiya. This pairing resulted in a series of hit movies that showcased their on-screen chemistry, including Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
As a seasoned lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that I, too, am preparing to step into the digital realm, much like Sooraj Barjatya with Rajshri Productions. In this new chapter of my career, I will be taking on the role of showrunner for Bada Naam Karenge, a heartfelt tale that beautifully encapsulates the essence of love, laughter, and family values – elements that are close to my heart as well.
Under the guidance of director Palash Vasvani, this upcoming series introduces Ritik Ghanshani portraying the character Rishabh and Ayesha Kaduskar as Surbhi. Anticipated to debut on Sony LIV on February 7, 2025.
In the colorful backdrops of Ujjain and Ratlam, Bada Naam Karenge explores topics such as personal growth, interpersonal relationships, and the indestructible ties of kinship. This series features a talented group of actors, including Ritik Ghanshani, Ayesha Kaduskar, Kanwaljeet Singh, Alka Amin, Rajesh Jais, Chitrali Lokesh, Deepika Amin, Jameel Khan, and Rajesh Tailang.
Salman Khan will soon appear in the movie titled “Sikandar,” sharing the screen with Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Prateik Babbar. This exciting film is scheduled for a big premiere on Eid 2025.
