Cricket Australia Unleashes AI Magic to Transform Fan Experience in Live Matches!

Cricket Australia Collaborates with HCLTech and Microsoft to add AI to its App

In a unique collaboration, global tech giants HCLTech (an Indian company) and Microsoft (an American firm) have teamed up with Cricket Australia. Their aim is to enhance the enjoyment of cricket matches for fans by integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) into the Cricket Australia Live app.

On matchdays, the new app functions as a real-time messenger, consistently providing textual updates throughout the ongoing games.

This platform emphasizes crucial moments, matches, and impactful occurrences by leveraging artificial intelligence with in-depth cricket wisdom, offering perspectives that go beyond mere match statistics and play-by-play analysis.

According to reports, the AI Insights feature was debuted on January 31 during the day-night test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which was a part of the CommBank Women’s Ashes series between Australia and England. Now, this feature can be accessed by all users worldwide who use the Cricket Australia Live app.

Sonia Eland, HCLTech’s Executive Vice President and Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand stated, “Using the potential of creative AI allows us to envision new ways for sports enthusiasts to interact.

Beyond that remark, she mentioned that “For quite some time now, we’ve been working closely with Cricket Australia as their primary digital technology partner. This new partnership with Microsoft is set to elevate the digital experience even more, allowing fans to feel more immersed in the game.

These activities serve as a solid foundation for TechJam, marking its successful launch and paving the way for the development of cutting-edge solutions specifically tailored for cricket. This momentum has propelled Cricket Australia Live to the forefront, making it the top sports application in Australia.

Nick Hockley, Cricket Australia’s CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about partnering with HCLTech and Microsoft to offer outstanding fan experiences.

In simpler terms, “Cricket Australia announced a major advancement in their mission to leverage digital technologies to make the game more engaging for fans worldwide. This new innovation, developed in partnership with HCLTech and Microsoft, is a significant leap towards this goal.”
