Among the less-talked-about yet exciting upcoming games is the mobile version of the popular MMORPG, Mabinogi, from Nexon. Since its announcement in 2022, there has been minimal news, but that’s now changing with a fresh teaser trailer and a proposed launch date this March.

Mabinogi Online is essentially an MMORPG, but with a unique spin – it resembles earlier games like Ultima Online more closely. Unlike traditional MMOs where you’re typically limited to being a fantasy adventurer, Mabinogi offers a wide range of career paths. Instead of having a set class, players can develop their characters through a diverse talent system that encompasses skills from close combat to cooking!

In 2022, it was announced that Mabinogi would have a mobile version, given Nexon’s strong emphasis on our platform. However, there has been little news since then. Yet, the teaser trailer (shown below) hints that we may not need to wait much longer. But I wouldn’t be shocked if a worldwide release is still some time away.

I’m fond of the concept of Mabinogi, but I must acknowledge that the notion of an MMORPG featuring non-combat activities isn’t entirely novel. Yet, with another competitor entering the market, it certainly doesn’t hurt the gaming landscape.
