As a gamer, I’d say: Every year, the Grammys gathers an array of artists for one unforgettable night, honoring the music we all love. This time around, Jaden Smith was among the crowd. Known for his daring fashion sense, the 26-year-old artist donned a custom Louis Vuitton suit in sleek black, complete with a crisp white button-down and a classic black tie. However, it wasn’t just the suit that stole the show – it was his eye-catching headpiece that made waves in the news.
Completing the group, Jaden accessorized his all-black attire with a distinct vampire castle headpiece crafted by Dora Abodi from Abodi Transylvania. The label shared on Instagram the story behind this enigmatic item, “For his Grammy Awards red carpet debut, we tailored the castle especially for him. This design merges the mystical elegance of ABODI Transylvania with a contemporary twist drawn from Transylvanian history and vampire folklore.” In another post, they clarified, “The renowned ABODI Transylvania Vampire Castle symbolizes courage, audacity, and an appreciation for childhood tales and legends. It encourages creativity and playfulness, transcending boundaries in terms of shapes, materials, ideas, colors, textures, fashion, and art. Moreover, it fosters creative collaborations and nurtures individuals who inspire and motivate. ABODI, a project embracing art and fashion, has always signified more than just a clothing brand; it is a title that carries the family name and a platform for like-minded artists to gather.
The headpiece, designed by ABODI Transylvania in partnership with artist Szilveszter Makó, gained significant attention when it was sported by Czech model and actress Eva Herzigova on the cover of Number Magazine. In an interview with the publication back in 2016, Smith expressed that there was a time in his life where he embraced a Gothic style, wearing only black clothes and avoiding sunlight due to his self-proclaimed vampire status. He stated, “At one point in my life, I was Gothic. I wore only black and hid from the sun because I was a real vampire. Now I’m no longer a vampire; I’ve moved past that phase.” As indicated on their website, this headpiece retails for approximately $4,630 USD.
