Following his inaugural Oscar nomination for the film “The Brutalist“, actor Guy Pearce has completed work on his subsequent project, titled “Blurred“. This upcoming feature is a thrilling, erotic tale that unfolds within the glamorous realm of New York’s fashion industry.
In the lead roles, Pearce and Alex Pettyfer (known for movies like “Magic Mike” and “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare”) join forces in this production, which is penned and helmed by Ben Cookson (“Waiting for Anya”). Sharing the screen with them are Maria Pedraza, famous for her work on Netflix’s “Money Heist,” and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who has appeared in films such as “Suicide Squad” and HBO’s “His Dark Materials.”
Or, more concisely:
Pearce and Alex Pettyfer (“Magic Mike”, “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare”) team up with Maria Pedraza (Netflix’s “Money Heist”), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (“Suicide Squad”, HBO’s “His Dark Materials”), in a film written and directed by Ben Cookson (“Waiting for Anya”).
The film titled “Blurred” was completed during the previous summer in the United Kingdom. It was produced by Pettyfer and James Ireland through Dark Dreams Entertainment, as well as Yariv Lerner (known for his work on “Hellboy” and “Rambo: Last Blood”) for Film Forage.
Next week, Cloud9 Studios will present the project for international sales to potential buyers during the European Film Market in Berlin.
The specifics about the project are limited, as Cloud9 refers to it as a “clever and alluring thriller” that takes place amidst the bustling atmosphere of New York’s fashion industry. Cloud9 plans to unveil the initial footage of this movie exclusively for buyers at a private showing during EFM (European Film Market).
Pearce is currently basking in some of the most favorable critiques of his professional journey, along with his inaugural Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. This recognition comes from his exceptional portrayal of the arrogant and heartless industrialist, Harrison Lee Van Buren Sr., in Brady Corbet’s film titled The Brutalist.
Pearce, who’s always kept busy, has a number of projects lined up. Among them is the supernatural thriller titled “Killing Faith” directed by Ned Crowley, in which he acts alongside Bill Pullman and DeWanda Wise. Additionally, there’s Simon Stone’s Netflix film “The Woman in Cabin 10“, where he shares screen time with Keira Knightley and Hannah Waddingham.
Cloud9 Studios’ Berlin lineup features Barry Levinson’s “Assassination,” a film starring Jessica Chastain, Brendan Fraser, and Al Pacino; the romantic comedy “Under the Stars,” which stars Toni Collette and Andy Garcia; and the supernatural horror thriller “Unmerciful Good Fortune” with Rosario Dawson in the lead role.
