As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’m excitedly stepping back into the shoes of destiny once more, as Ethan Hunt, the IMF agent, in the thrilling trailer for the long-awaited action sequel “Mission: Impossible – The Last Call” (or so it seems). This new adventure sees Tom Cruise team up again with director Christopher McQuarrie, where Hunt gathers his team for what appears to be a deeply personal mission. You can take a peek at the fresh teaser for “Mission: Impossible – The Last Call” below.
No Thanks, Keep Reading
Under the direction of Christopher McQuarrie, who also collaborated on the script with Erik Jendresen, the latest installment in the Mission: Impossible series is set to feature Tom Cruise alongside Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Henry Czerny reprising his role as Eugene Kittridge, Vanessa Kirby portraying Alanna Mitsopolis, Hayley Atwell playing Grace, Pom Klementieff in the role of Paris, and Shea Whigham as Jasper Briggs. The cast also includes Greg Tarzan Davis, Mariela Garriga, Rolf Saxon, Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, Frederick Schmidt, Mark Gatiss, Charles Parnell, Janet McTeer, Hannah Waddingham, Lucy Tulugarjuk, Katy O’Brian, Tramell Tillman, and Stephen Oyoung.
In “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” Tom Cruise reprises his role as Ethan Hunt, a character who persists in safeguarding humanity from a menacing AI called “The Entity.” This AI was initially unveiled in 2023’s “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.” The upcoming sequel guarantees that Cruise, now 62 years old, will once again dive fearlessly into peril for the sake of filmmaking. In this installment, he can be seen dangling from aircraft in a bid to rescue the world.
‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ Is Due To Hit Theaters on May 23
Despite little information being shared about the upcoming “Mission: Impossible” sequel, even regarding its supposed finale status, Simon Pegg, who is reprising his role, has hinted at what’s in store. In fact, he referred to “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” as the best one yet.
I’ve completed filming and have a day left for pick-ups. I’ve had a peek at some of it and let me tell you, it’s mind-blowing! It’s utterly incredible! The things he accomplishes in this production leave me speechless. I genuinely believe this one could be the best we’ve ever made. And I’m not simply praising it because it’s my job to do so.
In 2015, Christopher McQuarrie began steering the Mission: Impossible series with the fifth film, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. Since then, each subsequent movie has surpassed its predecessor, and the latest, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, has been highly praised, boasting a remarkable 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. As such, much anticipation surrounds the upcoming film, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, set to hit US theaters on May 23, 2025, distributed by Paramount Pictures.
Regarding speculation about whether it truly marks the end for Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, McQuarrie has hinted at the sequel as being the fitting culmination of a 30-year storyline. I believe fans will agree that the title is quite apt.
