Miles Teller Wishes ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ “All The Best” After His 2015 “Bomb”

As we eagerly await the upcoming release of a fresh “Fantastic Four” film this summer, Miles Teller – who was part of the 2015 version of the superhero series – has shared his thoughts on the new interpretation of the story.

Previously, Teller portrayed Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in a movie, alongside Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell. In the upcoming film titled “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“, Pedro Pascal will be stepping into the role of Reed Richards, with Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach completing the cast.

For a couple of years, Pedro has been someone I’ve known, and I truly hope they fare well,” Teller said to The Hollywood Reporter during the L.A. premiere of his latest film, ‘The Gorge’, on Wednesday. “I wouldn’t want anyone to be associated with a disaster – it can leave a lasting impact on one’s career that some find difficult to move past. I simply wish them success. The brief trailer I saw looked incredible, and I’m genuinely looking forward to their release.

In 2015, the movie “Fantastic Four” from 20th Century Fox failed to make profits at the box office, leading to the cancellation of its sequel. However, now that Disney owns the rights, Marvel’s original team, often referred to as The First Family, is being reintroduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Matt Shakman, who worked on “WandaVision”, is directing this new project, and the film titled “First Steps” is scheduled for release on July 25th.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that Teller is currently gracing our screens on Apple TV+ in the series titled “The Gorge“. In this gripping narrative, he shares the limelight with Anya Taylor-Joy, portraying two proficient operatives who find themselves drawn together. Their paths cross after they’re both assigned to safeguard opposite sides of a perplexing chasm.

Speaking about the project, Teller expressed that it was incredibly unique and captivating, with a special admiration for the director, Scott Derrickson, who happens to be one of his favorites. He also shared his high regard for Anya, describing her as exceptionally talented and charismatic. In watching her performances, he finds sheer enjoyment and believes she possesses an incredible range of abilities. Interestingly, Teller and Taylor-Joy have been friends for quite some time now, which he mentioned contributed to the genuine chemistry they displayed on screen.

Comfortableness with someone prior to filming significantly impacts the chemistry,” he explained, while she concurred, “You can’t truly predict if there will be chemistry until you’re on set. So, we were both relieved when we realized this would be enjoyable. It’s also reassuring to know that you’ll be working with someone who supports you and cares for you.

The Gorge, which also stars Sigourney Weaver, starts streaming Friday on Apple TV+.
