For the 2025 Craft Prize, the LOEWE FOUNDATION has announced its selection of 30 finalists from among more than 4,500 applicants. These artists hail from 18 different countries and will display their works in a unique group exhibition at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid, running from May 30 to June 29, 2025.
On May 29, during the initial event of the show, we’ll unveil the winner of the prize scheduled for 2025. This distinguished artist will be chosen by an esteemed panel of 13 individuals who are key figures in design, architecture, journalism, criticism, and museum curation, and they’ll award €50,000 to the victor.
Each year, it brings me immense joy to witness how the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize showcases exceptional talent and alters the global view of craftsmanship,” expressed Sheila Loewe, the Foundation’s president. “Over the last ten years, this prize has significantly impacted lives, careers, and fostered a worldwide network. It is an honor for me to uphold my family’s tradition.
Established in 2016 by creative director Jonathan Anderson, this award celebrates the brand’s origins as a craft studio by recognizing artistic dedication, quality, and innovation. The selection for 2025 will continue this tradition, building upon the achievement of last year’s laureate, Mexican ceramic artist Andrés Anza, whose work titled “I only know what I have seen” (2023) took home the prize in 2024.
