Sabrina Carpenter and Paul Simon commenced the 50th anniversary special of Saturday Night Live by performing a moving duet together.
The Grammy award-winning artists introduced themselves before they started the NBC broadcast by performing a rendition of “Homeward Bound” by Simon & Garfunkel. Simon reminisced about his previous performance of this song, which he did with George Harrison on SNL in 1976, while Carpenter humorously mentioned that neither she nor her parents were around when the song was first released.

As the show came to a close, Carpenter and Simon started off our Sunday special with a classic nod, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday night,” even though we were broadcasting on a Sunday evening. Following that, Steve Martin graced us with his monologue.
