Wicked Peacock Premiere Date Revealed: When Can You Stream Wicked?

Something truly extraordinary is set to arrive on Peacock next month…if you get our hint. The NBCUniversal streaming service has confirmed that director Jon M. Chu’s much-admired prequel to “The Wizard of Oz” will make its debut on the platform in March 2025.

Based on the well-known and award-winning Broadway play with the same title, this movie delves into the intriguing backstory of the Wicked Witch of the West (played by Cynthia Erivo). She was once a promising student at Shiz University until the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) labeled her as an outcast. The film also showcases the skills of Ariana Grande, Marissa Bode, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Peter Dinklage, and Michelle Yeoh among its talented cast members.

When will Wicked stream on Peacock?

Wicked will stream on Peacock Friday, March 21.

The service provides two monthly payment options: Premium (which costs $7.99 per month and includes ads) and Premium Plus ($13.99 per month without ads and download access for selected titles). If you’re a student, you can get the Premium plan for only $1.99 per month for an entire year!

When will be the Wicked sequel Wicked: For Good be released?

Wicked: For Good is slated for a wide theatrical debut on Friday, November 21, 2025.

As a gamer, I found myself engrossed in a game where the creators didn’t view the two episodes I was playing as separate entities, despite being filmed consecutively.

For Jon Chu’s massive movie, scheduled for wide release in November 2024, we opted to create a single film instead of splitting it into parts. This approach ensured a seamless narrative flow from a filmmaking perspective, as there were no breaks, changes in crews, or newcomers stepping in. Our team, led by Jon, Ari, and Cynthia, worked closely together, developing a kind of unspoken understanding – like a shared mental process in filmmaking. This allowed us to communicate without words, using gestures, smiles, and fostering an environment that enveloped the actors in the world of Oz, making them feel completely engrossed.
