In every part of the game, you can encounter the Goldenfish, but since most of Kanya’s fishing tasks are concentrated in the Scarlet Forest which teems with various life forms, particularly aquatic ones, that’s where we’ll focus our search for the Goldenfish. However, feel free to explore other areas if you prefer.

According to Kanya’s guidance and the quest instructions, Goldenfish prefer cooler, dimly lit environments, which are typically caves. There are numerous caves scattered throughout the Scarlet Forest, but the one that is most frequently filled and easiest to access is located in Area 12, south of the Wudwud Hideout. Simply journey south from it and venture into the cave hidden behind the waterfall.

Best Bait To Use For A Goldenfish

Initially in the game, you started with only one type of bait, the Common Wood Minnow. It’s beneficial because it can lure various types of fish, but be mindful that it might not catch the immediate attention of a particular fish due to its sluggish nature. To help you out, Kanya provides you with additional bait as part of this quest: the Golden Bughead and the Emerald Jitterbait.
