In 2016, the Netflix series “Stranger Things” and its young star Millie Bobby Brown captivated the globe. Since then, they’ve become essential elements of pop culture. Given this fame, you might expect Brown to have plenty of behind-the-scenes stories about the show before it reaches audiences. However, according to Eleven’s actress, the benefits offered by Netflix aren’t as glamorous as one might imagine.
With the approaching season of Stranger Things just around the corner, the stars of Enola Holmes and the team are giving out as much information as they can. As one of Netflix’s top original series, it might seem that everyone who has interacted with Hawkins in some way would have early access to each episode before the general public. However, this is not the case, as Millie Bobby Brown clarified during the premiere of her latest film, The Electric State. She revealed to Variety that none of the cast members are permitted to watch the season ahead of viewers, a rule that has always been in place.
We haven’t done that for 10 years. I don’t think they’re going to start on the last season.
As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I’m always amazed by the secretive nature of television production, particularly with shows like Stranger Things. It’s almost unbelievable that none of the cast members get an early peek at the new season before the rest of us. When you consider the delays caused by Covid-19, Hollywood strikes, and the complexities of the show’s production and scheduling, it all makes sense. However, I must admit, it still feels a bit strange that the ensemble doesn’t get the luxury of a pre-screening. After all, Stranger Things was instrumental in elevating Netflix’s original programming to new heights back in 2016, paving the way for the streamer-based TV and films we enjoy today. Here’s hoping that this particular perk changes for their final season!
Although the official release of the final season of “Stranger Things” on Netflix’s 2025 TV and movie lineup hasn’t been confirmed yet, there’s definitely a lot of anticipation surrounding it. The hype grew significantly when several cast members revealed that filming wrapped up emotionally for them late in 2020. Since then, it has been fascinating to observe these former castmates pursuing different paths.

The actress who plays Damsel has firmly established herself after eleven days, and she’s recently been questioned about potentially portraying Spears in a biopic. However, it appears she’s not involved with the Princess of Pop’s project at this time. Instead, she’s focusing on the production of Enola Holmes 3 and the film adaptation of The Thing About Jellyfish. Additionally, Brown recently celebrated her 21st birthday in a grand manner, indicating that we can expect to see much more of her following the finale of Stranger Things.
Despite Millie Bobby Brown’s ongoing success with Netflix from her role in Stranger Things, it appears the behind-the-scenes benefits might not be as substantial as one might assume. Here’s hoping that things improve for her and her fellow cast members heading into Season 5 – we’re keeping our fingers crossed!
