After announcing a sci-fi anime themed UT collection earlier, Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo has unveiled another thrilling collaboration for their renowned graphic T-shirt line. This time, they’re teaming up with the Louvre, and the upcoming UT capsule collection will showcase beloved Doraemon characters alongside famous artworks and spots from the globally recognized museum.
In late May, a collection of four distinctive graphic designs will be released on UT T-shirts. The designs are printed on black, gray, or white cotton fabric. One white T-shirt features Doraemon and Nobita standing in front of Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa,” holding hands. On another white T-shirt, Doraemon is depicted as a sculptor, reimagining his friends as winged figures inspired by the Hellenistic Art masterpiece “The Winged Victory of Samothrace.
On a gray T-shirt, Doraemon playfully switches roles with the subject in Johannes Vermeer’s “The Astronomer.” In contrast, the black T-shirt features an image of The Louvre at night, showcasing the glass pyramid reflecting the alluring night sky gradient and the palace outlined as a silhouette. Upon closer inspection, Doraemon and Nobita are hidden among the stars in the night sky.
The T-shirts we mentioned earlier will be coming out in late May from Uniqlo, and they cost around ¥1,500 JPY or about $10 USD each.
