American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe Is Shifting From Reality TV For His Next Gig, And I Honestly Didn’t See It Coming

Back in the recent past, just a couple of months ago, I, a devoted cinema enthusiast, was reminiscing about the two-decade milestone since I embarked on my picking adventures alongside my longtime friend and former co-star, Frank Fritz. This journey began even before our hit series American Pickers graced our screens, with its 26th season concluding in January 2025 according to the TV schedule. Now it appears that I am venturing away from the reality television sphere, and my upcoming project is something I never thought I’d be involved in.

Mike Wolfe’s girlfriend Leticia Cline, who began quietly dating the American Pickers star following his divorce in 2021, announced on Instagram that the couple will both appear in the movie Day of Reckoning, which apparently hits the 2025 movie calendar soon! Check out the announcement below:

It’s unclear what role Mike Wolfe, who is known for his work on the TV show “American Pickers,” will have in this action-Western, as it seems quite distinct from the type of project I would expect for him given his background in searching for antiques around America. In other words, “American Pickers” feels more like a comforting TV show to watch while doing chores or as background noise, whereas “Day of Reckoning” appears to be a completely different genre.

This film is helmed by Shaun Silva, a director known for collaborating with various country music performers. In the lead roles, we have Zach Roerig portraying a sheriff and Billy Zane as a U.S. Marshal. The two law enforcement officers join forces to capture Emily Rusk (Cara Jade Myers), a notorious criminal, as her husband (Scott Adkins) – along with his own group of outlaws – pursues them in retaliation. Some well-known personalities can be found within the cast, including Trace Adkins and rapper Yelawolf, among others.

Regarding the future of Season 27 for “American Pickers”, it’s uncertain when or if the filming will resume by the History Channel team. Mike Wolfe mentioned in November that a new season is on its way, following speculation about him and Danielle Colby potentially continuing the series after Frank Fritz passed away in September 2024. Fritz had stepped away from the show three years ago due to disagreements with Wolfe but apparently reconciled with his friend before his demise.

In a heartfelt farewell message on social media addressing 2024, Mike Wolfe acknowledged the difficulty of letting go but did not comment on the future of their series. He expressed gratitude towards his fans for their unwavering support over the past 15 years and revealed that reaching the age of 60 has brought him a newfound sense of clarity and tranquility.

Perhaps that experience sparked a desire within me to star in an action-Western, especially since turning 60 seems like the perfect time to check such experiences off my bucket list. I’m definitely keeping an eye on Mike Wolfe to see what other exciting projects he might have planned. In the meantime, make sure you mark your calendars for March 28th, as that’s when Day of Reckoning is set to premiere on the big screen.
