Adidas has officially washed its hands of Kanye West‘s brand Yeezy.
On Wednesday, the sports apparel company announced in its quarterly report that it had sold all its remaining stock of the Yeezy line. In other words, there are no more Yeezys available, as confirmed by Adidas’ CFO Harm Ohlmeyer during their earnings call. He emphasized that this means not a single pair of Yeezy shoes remains in their inventory.
Over two years ago, Adidas cut ties with me, the controversial rapper Ye, following his antisemitic remarks. In a statement released in October 2022, they made it clear that they have zero tolerance for antisemitism or any form of hate speech. They deemed my recent comments and actions unacceptable, hurtful, and dangerous, as they contradict their values of diversity, respect, and fairness. This decision cost Adidas up to €250 million ($246 million) in net income for 2022.
The next year, Adidas disclosed they were preparing to put up for sale their leftover pairs of shoes.
The fourth-quarter earnings report from last Wednesday showed that the leftover Yeezy stock contributed approximately €50 million to Adidas’ total revenue, pushing the overall figure up by around 24% to €5,965 million in 2024. This is a significant increase compared to the €4,812 million earned in 2023. However, it’s worth noting that sales in North America dropped by 2% chiefly due to reduced Yeezy sales, while sales grew in other regions as per Adidas’ report.
The brand added that the company’s 2025 forecast doesn’t encompass any earnings or profits from Yeezy products.
In more accessible language:
Recently, during the 2025 Super Bowl, West, who continues to use the Yeezy brand, aired an intriguing commercial promoting their website. However, the very next day, Shopify – the platform hosting the brand’s online store – shut down the site. This was because Kanye West had limited his online shop to just one item: a T-shirt with a Nazi swastika on it, which violated Shopify’s policies.
Lately, the rapper has been expressing more of his hateful views on social media platforms. He’s been posting tweets that are questionable and offensive towards Jewish people, even going so far as to express approval for Adolf Hitler and self-identifying as a Nazi.
