The Marvel Cinematic Universe churns out content, offering viewers a mix of theater releases and streaming options via Disney+. Highly anticipated upcoming Marvel films include a duo of Avengers movies from directors The Russos: “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars.” However, following some recent leaks of exterior shots in other productions like “Deadpool 3,” the pair of filmmakers are already strategizing ways to address this issue.
As a die-hard Marvel film fanatic, I can’t help but share my excitement regarding the upcoming blockbusters, “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars.” Information about these films is scarce at the moment, but it appears that production is moving full steam ahead.
Fans who have followed the Marvel series chronologically are buzzing with anticipation over Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the universe, this time as Doctor Doom. However, directors The Russos have spoken about their efforts to keep spoilers under wraps from prying photographers. Joe Russo confirmed that a significant portion of production will take place on secure sound stages. He emphasized:
“Most of our work will be happening within these locked down sets.
We don’t want people getting photographs, so we are being pretty stringent.
Given the circumstances, isn’t it understandable that he would be upset? Numerous major productions have had their costumes and locations compromised due to paparazzi. For instance, Ariana Grande’s “No One Mourns The Wicked” was spoiled when drones captured footage of her, revealing the costumes and vocals ahead of official trailers. Similarly, the live-action Moana experienced leaks of Dwayne Johnson as Maui.
During the same interview, Anthony Russo additionally discussed how the presence of paparazzi impacts the filming of exterior scenes. In his own words:
> The paparazzi’s presence has an influence on the locations where we shoot our exteriors.
The location work we are doing, we have picked those locations with that in mind, as well.
Making a movie like the Avengers, especially within the MCU, involves countless choices. Yet, fans trust The Russos because their past works in this universe have consistently ranked high among Marvel films. If there’s anyone capable of bringing the complex multiversal storyline of the upcoming movies to life, it’s them.
It appears that the production for “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars” is definitely moving forward, as we’re starting to hear whispers about these projects. The Russo brothers have discussed Robert Downey Jr.’s preparations for his role as Doctor Doom, hinting that he’s deeply engaged in shaping this wicked character.
As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited about the rumblings of Secret Wars hitting the big screen! In the comic books, this epic crossover event pits heroes against each other in an epic multiversal battle. Fans have been eagerly anticipating this adaptation for the upcoming film, but unfortunately, the studio and The Russos are keeping their plans close to their chests for now.
I can’t wait to see which heroes will join the fray, and who might take on new roles as variant versions of our favorite characters. With Secret Wars, anything is possible! However, we’ll have to be patient since it doesn’t appear on the 2025 movie release list. Here’s hoping for some surprises along the way!
