1975-06-20 is a day etched in both marine and cinematic history due to the release of Steven Spielberg’s movie, Jaws, in theaters. It significantly altered people’s perceptions towards the ocean and sharks, and its box office success coined the term “summer blockbuster” film.

This June marks the 50th anniversary for Universal Pictures, who are kick-starting a year-long tribute to the classic movie “Jaws”. They plan to celebrate it in style by offering exclusive merchandise and themed food items at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Orlando.

Starting from May, both theme parks will introduce a fresh assortment of merchandise and collectibles based on the anniversary. In Orlando, food enthusiasts can visit Chez Alcatraz to savor some unique dishes and drinks inspired by the Jaws movie. For those in Los Angeles this fall, on September 14, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will unveil the exhibition titled “Jaws: The Exhibition”.

Jaws the 50th anniversary exclusive theme park merchandise 

Come this May, I’ll be thrilled to share that both Universal parks will unveil an exclusive anniversary-themed merchandise collection in their official stores! Among the new items you’ll find is a Jaws-inspired sipper, bucket hat, a trendy Jaws-branded baseball cap, a crossbody bag, an insulated cooler bag, a cuddly shark plushie, and much more to add to your collection!

At Universal Studios Hollywood, visitors can encounter the fearsome great white shark from Jaws while touring Amity Island. Daily, they’ll relive the iconic “Bruce the shark” experience on this world-renowned Studio Tour. Additional events related to the Jaws attraction are set to be announced as summer approaches.

This summer, we’re heading back to Universal Studios Orlando for an exciting spectacle known as the “Grand Film Parade”. It’s a vibrant tribute to beloved characters and memorable scenes from timeless Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation movies, both old and new.

In the town of Amity, where the movie Jaws is set, the Mayor strolls among the crowd during the parade, reassuring spectators that no sharks have been seen in the water. The Jaws part of the procession includes a float with a shark prop attacking an Orca.

Visitors have the opportunity to savor unique cuisine and drinks at the themed eatery, Chez Alcatraz, and following that, they can capture a memorable photo next to the suspended great white shark, evoking the feel of the movie.

Jaws: The Exhibition at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures

Approximately a 10-mile drive from Universal Studios Hollywood, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures at LACMA West is set to launch “Jaws: The Exhibition” on September 14, 2025. This exhibit is included with your museum admission and will run from that date until July 26, 2026. Tickets for this exciting event are available now.

For the first time ever at the Academy Museum, “Jaws: The Exhibition” will showcase an extensive display dedicated solely to a single movie – the iconic “Jaws,” the Oscar-winning film from Universal Pictures. To celebrate the movie’s 50th anniversary, this exhibition takes you through each scene of the classic thriller, using original artifacts, behind-the-scenes insights, and interactive experiences. With direct access to Steven Spielberg’s personal collections, The Amblin Hearth Archive, NBCUniversal Archives & Collections, and more, the show delves into the making of the film and examines its lasting influence.
