The movie from the creative minds of Brandon Baer and Garrett Baer is set to release this summer through Dread, their horror division’s banner. Completing the talented cast are Ashley Argota Torres, Brielle Barbusca, Sterling Beaumon, Luke Benward, Jack Griffo, Khylin Rhambo and Kara Royster.
Stay Signed In – Chronicles the story of Annie (known for her role in Modern Family), who urgently works to save her best friend, who mysteriously vanishes during a surprise birthday video call. As days pass, Annie delves into her friend’s digital footprints, scrutinizing phone calls, messages, and social media posts, all while steering clear of an ominous figure from her friend’s past.
Brandon and Garrett Baer explain, “Our movie is meant to serve as a time capsule, capturing the madness of a technologically obsessed era that we’ve lived through. We believed the most truthful way to narrate this story was by combining elements of screen-life and conventional filmmaking techniques to innovatively explore this suspense thriller genre. We are incredibly thankful that Epic, Dread, and our collaborators recognized our vision and chose to work with us in bringing this movie to audiences.
The duo collaborated on developing that aspect together with Winter, Beaumon, Benward, Nicole Smolen, and Austin Seltzer. Additionally, Todd Slater contributed as a producer under the banner of Brick Lane Entertainment, who managed global distribution from the European Film Market.
In this movie, fear isn’t limited to what appears on-screen; it extends to the point where virtual and reality intertwine,” Winter explains in her statement. “We are thrilled about collaborating with Epic and Dread, and we can’t wait for viewers to feel the excitement, the shivers, and the genuine unease that we experienced during that period. Don’t Log Off serves as a chilling warning that, at times, logging off could be the most terrifying decision you ever make!
Moreover, the CEO of Epic Pictures, Patrick Ewald, commends the project as a “smart, suspenseful, and imaginative thriller that grips you right from the beginning until the end.
In this transaction, Yulissa Morales-Silva, Vice President of U.S. Distribution, collaborated with Slater from Brick Lane Entertainment and Sean Pope, legal representative from Ramo Law PC, to finalize the agreement.
