Shemar Moore is getting déjà vu, but not in a good way.
For eight seasons, the lead actor of SWAT has been in charge. On Thursday evening, he shared his thoughts on CBS once more deciding to end the police procedural, a move they’ve made and reversed previously on two occasions.

The SWAT series, which the actor has starred in for eight seasons, found itself canceled by CBS again last Thursday. Previously, this show was taken off and put back on the air twice by the network.

After leading SWAT for eight successful seasons, the main actor shared his reaction to CBS cancelling the police drama yet again on Instagram last Thursday night. The network has previously reversed this decision twice.
To my friends, supporters, daughters, and the film industry – yes, I’m addressing you, Hollywood – this is me speaking. I had decided not to do this, but I can’t resist. I have to because it reflects who I am, how my mother brought me up. Stand tall, speak honestly. My mom hates liars, so I’m not lying and I’m telling the truth. S.W.A.T., here we are, with season eight starting in just three weeks from now, and unfortunately, it looks like we’re getting canceled again. It’s disappointing, it’s sad.
The former star of “Criminal Minds” went on, expressing, “Twice in a row, un-canceled, then canceled, and again un-canceled! I’m not great with history, but I believe no other show can claim that. Perhaps we are one of the very few, or even unique in this regard. But we did it, and we are incredibly proud.

Though Moore acknowledges all that’s been accomplished on the series across eight seasons, he remains optimistic about the potential future of SWAT.
I tell CBS, if you’ve reached a decision – it seems to be about finances, appearances, and politics – I believe you’re making a wrong move. However, if you’ve made up your mind, I express my gratitude sincerely and genuinely, from the core of my heart. Thank you for the privilege, thank you for the chance, thank you for the journey. If you reconsider, I assure you will bring joy to many people.
In the game of life, I can’t help but acknowledge the extraordinary team behind SWAT. They are undoubtedly top-notch professionals, and today, I bid them farewell with heartfelt gratitude.

The actor from “The Young and the Restless” commented, “The SWAT family isn’t finished pursuing villains or helicopter, motorcycle, car, and explosive chases. I am gracefully stepping away for now but eagerly looking forward to my next chapter. At present, I will simply enjoy chasing after my little girl, my daughter. Later on, I’ll be back in the saddle, donning my cape once more as Shemar Franklin Moore.”
The actor from “The Young and the Restless” said, “We aren’t done with high-speed pursuits and explosive action on S.W.A.T., including helicopter, motorcycle, car chases, and blowing things up. For now, I am stepping aside gracefully but am excited about my new journey. Currently, I am just enjoying chasing after my little girl, my daughter. Eventually, I’ll get back on the horse, put on my cape, and resume being Shemar Franklin Moore.
Initially, CBS decided to end SWAT in 2023 after six seasons, but later changed their mind, bringing it back for a seventh and what seemed like a final season. However, the network shocked fans by reviving it again at the last minute for an eighth season, which is currently on air.
When the show was first canceled, Moore also spoke out, calling the decision a “fucking mistake.”
