Sadie Sink “Cried So Much” on Last Day of ‘Stranger Things’: “There Are Some Pretty Embarrassing Photos”

18-year-old Sadie Sink attended Austin, Texas on a Saturday for the premiere of her latest movie, “O’Dessa,” at SXSW. During this event, she also reminisced about completing the last season of “Stranger Things.

The popular Netflix show wrapped up filming for its fifth season in December and is scheduled to air this year. Sink expressed to The Hollywood Reporter, “I haven’t seen any part of it yet, but I’m really eager. It’s going to be incredibly emotional, so I’m prepared to cry along with everyone.

The actress confessed to shedding many tears on the last day of filming, recalling, “By the end, I’d cried so much my eyes were swollen – they’d never looked that way before, and there are some rather awkward photos of me with these enormously puffed-up eyes.”

The actress owned up to having bawled her eyes out on the last day of filming, looking back, “I had cried so much my eyes were swollen – they’d never looked that way before, and there are some pretty awkward photos of me with these enormous puffy eyes.

Prior to diving into promoting “Stranger Things”, Sink is currently featured in “O’Dessa”, a rock opera set in a post-apocalyptic era. In this production, she plays the lead character O’Dessa, a farm girl embarking on a quest to recover a family treasure and rescue her beloved.

Upon learning about the concept of a “rock opera,” my curiosity was piqued right away, but I wanted to give the music a listen first. Once I did, I found myself deeply captivated by the character and the extraordinary musical universe that [writer-director] Geremy [Jasper] had meticulously crafted. It felt like an exciting opportunity to step into this role and tackle the challenge head-on.

Originally, Sink made her mark on Broadway and will be back this spring with the play “John Proctor is the Villain“. However, she mentioned that singing in films contrasts significantly with performing on stage. Since it had been a decade since she last sang, it was exciting to discover a new voice through the character of O’Dessa. It was both nerve-wracking and fulfilling.

Beginning March 20, the film titled O’Dessa, featuring Kelvin Harrison Jr., Regina Hall, and Murray Bartlett, will be available for streaming on Hulu.
