Currently, there aren’t many long-running horror TV series available these days. Shows like “Hysteria!” and “Teacup” have been canceled on Peacock, although franchises such as “The Walking Dead” continue to thrive. However, the options are limited for fans, with only a few series like “The Creep Tapes” on Shudder and “From” on MGM+ standing out. Although “The Creep Tapes” is still new, “From” has become quite successful, demonstrating that, when executed well, horror can be as successful on television as it is in movies. Now, about four months after the end of “From” Season 3, we have some insight into when Season 4 might air.
In an interview with Emmanuel Noisette of E-Man’s Movie Reviews, creators John Griffin and Jeff Pinker shared insights about their highly successful horror series that debuted in 2022 and has received widespread critical praise. While Pinker expressed optimism that Season 4 might air in 2025, fans got a glimmer of hope, only to have those expectations somewhat tempered by Griffin’s more cautious estimation for the release date.
Before we proceed to the next question, may I say something? I don’t want Jeff or myself to encounter any angry individuals. If my understanding is correct, it seems like we won’t complete filming until the holiday season. Therefore, it looks like we might be wrapping up in early 2026.
Pinkner concurred with him, stating that it’s highly probable that Season 4 of “From” won’t premiere until early 2026. Nevertheless, this news offers fans something to anticipate and helps keep the series available on MGM+. Despite receiving a 96% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, many people are unaware of its existence. Therefore, the extra time they have to expand their viewership only strengthens the chances that “From” will continue for at least another two or three seasons.
‘From’ Creators Already Know How the Series Will End
In some long-running shows like LOST, it may seem like the creators are improvising without a definite end goal in mind. However, this is not true for From; those responsible for its production have a firm grasp of how the series will wrap up and are working backwards from that point. Yet, there’s still room for creative flexibility during the process, as Griffin explained.
Consider our story as a journey from Los Angeles to New York, with various routes and interesting stops along the way serving as our mythology – the foundation and destination points. Yet, we enjoy keeping much of the trip open-ended, allowing for spontaneous detours and unexpected changes, making the final destination and the journey itself equally exciting.
The filming for Season 4 of From is expected to start by the end of this year, with further updates about Season 5 being shared as they come. In the interim, don’t forget to catch up on the first three seasons currently streaming on MGM+.
