The third installment featuring Deadpool and Wolverine was a blockbuster success at the cinema, boasting an impressive ensemble of characters from prior Marvel productions. Yet, it came as a shock to some viewers that certain key figures from Deadpool 2 were missing. A common desire among fans was to see Josh Brolin reprise his role as Cable, and the same goes for Zazie Beetz‘s Domino who didn’t make an appearance in this movie.
In the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Domino was conspicuously absent, despite the film being jam-packed with cameos. Since Deadpool has now officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s a chance we might see her again. However, as ScreenRant recently found out, the actress seems keen on reprising her role, but there don’t appear to be any immediate plans for this. Beatz commented…
As of now, I haven’t engaged in discussions with Marvel, but I often ponder the idea on my own, [smiles]. In essence, I’m unsure about it. If an opportunity arises, I would need to collaborate with a writer and invest time in the process, though it’s hard to predict if that will happen.
In the film titled “Deadpool & Wolverine“, a multitude of events unfolded, with the primary intent being to highlight the two characters whose names are in the title. While many key characters from the initial two “Deadpool” movies made brief appearances at the start and finish of the film, Domino was conspicuously absent. Given her less-than-fond feelings towards Deadpool, it’s possible they don’t spend much time together.
In a positive light, Marvel Studios has demonstrated that they prefer to work with the original actors when reintroducing characters from earlier series. The upcoming Fantastic Four: First Steps, however, presents an alternate universe’s iteration of the team as a means to account for differences between this new version and its predecessors within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
It’s reasonable to assume that, given Charlie Cox and his team appearing in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, and those who returned for Deadpool & Wolverine, if there was a demand for Domino in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Zazie Beetz would likely be the one chosen.
To put it simply, Beetz hasn’t received any hints from Marvel about a possible return as Domino. However, expressing her desire to reprise the role could make a difference. It seems the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) isn’t growing at the rate of a real universe anymore, which might mean less enthusiasm for greenlighting a standalone Disney+ show for Domino, given that several other planned Marvel series have recently stalled in development. If a Domino series does materialize, I, for one, would be eager to watch it.
