EXCLUSIVE: Dino Morea admits breaking up with Bipasha Basu during Raaz; recalls seeing her upset on set: ‘I moved on’

Raaz continues to be a beloved movie, not just due to its chilling soundtrack but also because of the palpable connection between Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu. This film significantly propelled Dino’s career, yet the production wasn’t without its challenges. In an exclusive interview with TopMob, he discussed experiencing a breakup with Bipasha during filming. He remembered her seeming ‘distressed’ on set each day and spoke about how he eventually found closure following their separation.

Looking back, Dino shared with TopMob, “During a time when we were parting ways, Bipasha and I, it was actually me initiating the separation due to some problems between us. To put it frankly, she found this period particularly difficult, and I was working alongside her every day on set. She was visibly distressed, and it was incredibly challenging for me to witness someone I hold dear going through such pain.

Regardless of our attempts to repair the situation, the relationship was no longer salvageable. To put it another way, we had decided to go our separate ways, and despite our efforts to fix it, it simply wouldn’t work out. In time, I chose to move forward.

The actor also mentioned, “That period was quite difficult as you’re drifting apart from someone you’ve been close to for some time, and at the same, we were still working together. This dual situation made it all the more tough.

Despite the difficult heartache, Dino holds the belief that time has a healing power. The Raaz actor expressed, “Both of us were sad, yet we needed to part ways. We needed to. It was extremely hard, but there’s no better remedy than time. Time heals all; one simply needs to let it flow.

He mentioned, “That stage was incredibly challenging, yet I always trust that things will eventually sort themselves out as time goes by.

As time passed, the harsh feelings softened, leading to an enduring friendship. “We grew to become the closest of friends afterwards,” he said. “That period was tough; it felt like a maelstrom of anger, emotions, and rage, but eventually, you realize that moment was just one moment. I appreciate that person immensely, and they feel the same way about me, so let’s maintain our friendship at least,” he concluded.

For those who may not know, Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu first met on a blind date organized by a mutual acquaintance during their initial modeling years. Their bond grew stronger over time, and they were together from 1996 to 2001 before eventually going separate ways.
