The main character Jack Reacher is well-known for being extremely tall and robust. Consistently, the novels bearing his name portray him in much the same manner.
In the initial two-and-a-half weeks following its release on February 20, Season 3 of Reacher attracted its largest audience yet, as indicated by data from within Amazon. Globally, the show amassed a total of 54.6 million viewers in the 19 days following its premiere, showing a slight increase compared to Season 2 over the same timeframe. As a result, it now holds the title of Amazon’s biggest returning series (meaning Season 2 or later) based on their records.
Amazon claims that the premiere of Reacher’s third season on Prime Video outperformed any other launch since the series Fallout attracted 65 million viewers within its first 16 days in April 2024, with only Fallout and the initial season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power boasting a larger viewer count over a similar time span.
Amazon states that the launch of Reacher’s third season on Prime Video has been its biggest premiere since April 2024, with Fallout and the first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power being the only other shows in recent times to have attracted more viewers over a similar time period.
The upcoming 19-day span encompasses the initial five episodes of the third season of Reacher, with the sixth episode premiering early on Thursday. By March 20, U.S. viewing statistics for the show’s debut week will be released by Nielsen.
In comparison to several notable Prime Video releases from the past couple of months, such as “Cross” which garnered 40 million viewers worldwide within 20 days (including its full-season release), and season two of “The Rings of Power” that attracted 40 million viewers in just 11 days following its August 2024 premiere, the viewership for “Reacher” has surpassed these figures. However, it’s important to note that the exact number of viewers for “Reacher”, which stands at 54.6 million, could refer either to the average minute audience (a streaming equivalent to linear TV ratings) or the total number of people who have watched at least a portion of the current season.
The television series “Reacher” is jointly produced by Amazon Studios (MGM), Skydance Television, and CBS Studios. Nick Santora serves as the showrunner, with executive production handled by Lee Child, the author of the Jack Reacher novels, along with Alan Ritchson, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell from Skydance.
