Despite achieving stardom in his newest movie, “Captain America: Brave New World,” Anthony Mackie prioritizes being a parent above all else.
In a recent interview on “The Pivot,” Mackie discussed his parenting style, stating, “I make sure my sons stay grounded. They’ve never owned a pair of Jordans, and they don’t engage in foolish online behavior. Even if I were the biggest star globally, I wouldn’t tolerate any signs of foolishness.
He added, “It’s my eldest, the 15-year-old, who understands. He tells his siblings, ‘Hey, don’t upset Dad.’ If one of them is in the wrong, he’ll set the others straight.”

The actor from the Avengers series spoke about why he feels strongly about shaping his children’s characters, emphasizing its significance in today’s society. He said, “Over the past 20 years, we’ve been witnessing a decline of traditional masculinity in our homes and communities for various reasons. However, I am raising my sons to be young gentlemen.
Mackie instilled certain values in his sons from a young age, emphasizing the importance of expressing gratitude, holding doors open for women, and caring for their mother. He would often remind them, “You’re the head of the household now. Make sure the doors are locked every night, the alarm is on, and you keep in touch with me. Text or call me every evening before bedtime and when you wake up.” Mackie expressed his affection for these traditions, saying, “I appreciate that because we’re men.
Mackie asserts that wealth and fame hold no value to him if he can’t safeguard his family. In other words, his unique interpretation of American masculinity deviates significantly from the norm.
