As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I can’t contain my anticipation as we inch closer to the grand premiere of James Gunn’s groundbreaking Superman film in the DC Universe, set just a few months from now. The buzz surrounding this movie is palpable, and with David Corenswet stepping into the Man of Steel’s cape, expectations are running high. Yet, even as we eagerly await this cinematic marvel, many dedicated fans like myself can’t help but gaze into the future.
The DCU landscape is poised for a fresh phase, with new versions of Batman and Wonder Woman on the horizon. A captivating piece of fan art has stirred our collective imagination, proposing Alexandra Daddario as an enticing choice for the Dark Knightess, and Jensen Ackles as a compelling contender for the iconic role of Wonder Man – or should I say, Wonder Woman! The idea of these talented actors breathing life into these legendary characters has us all dreaming of what could be.
A graphic designer on Instagram has taken the first official look at Corensewet’s Superman and combined it with his own members of the classic DC trinity, including Alexandra Daddario as Wonder Woman and Jensen Ackles as Batman. As ideas go, it’s certainly not the worst one. Check it out.

Jensen Ackles has built a significant bond with the Batman character due to his voice roles in various DC animated series. Additionally, he’s had some live-action superhero experience from his work on The Boys. This has sparked enthusiasm among many fans who hope that he might one day take up the mantle of Batman in the DC Universe.
Alexandra Daddario has a link to DC animation, as she’s voiced Lois Lane instead of Wonder Woman in the past. However, her likeness fits perfectly with the art depicted here. Currently, there are no known plans for Wonder Woman to join the DC Universe that we’re aware of. It’s highly likely that this will happen someday, but it’s impossible to predict who might be chosen to portray the role.
In a twist of events, it’s not the same story as the recent Batman movies starring Robert Pattinson under director Matt Reeves for DCU. Instead, a new Batman film titled “The Brave and the Bold” has been announced. This upcoming movie will be helmed by Andy Muschietti, and unlike previous adaptations, it will introduce Robin, who will be portrayed as Damian Wayne, Batman’s son from the comics, in a long time.
The project is thrilling, yet a specific release date for the movie has never been announced. As per the director’s own words, the progress has been slow, so it’s uncertain when filming might start or if an actor like Jensen Ackles is even close to the caliber needed for the portrayal of Batman that the story requires.
In the world of DC Universe Comics (DCU), it’s hard to predict exactly when or who will be involved in a significant event like the one hinted at, apart from David Corenswet. However, given James Gunn’s plans for the DCU, it seems highly likely that this event will eventually unfold on screen, provided his vision for the universe proves successful enough to reach that point.
