Konami unveiled a fresh glimpse of Silent Hill, leaving fans thrilled with the prospect of yet another captivating journey since the release of the Silent Hill 2 Remake last year.
During the live stream for Silent Hill Transmission, both a trailer and detailed information about the game’s setting were released, including its Steam page. In the 1960s, following Japan’s recovery from World War II, a remote village named Ebisugaoka is enveloped in an unexpected fog, forming the backdrop for Silent Hill f.
Main character Hinako must maneuver through dense mist, uncover hidden perils within, solve riddles, and discover a means to halt the danger that menaces Ebisugaoka.
In the game Silent Hill, notable figures are steering crucial elements. The narrative was shaped by Ryukishi07, a renowned Japanese author, who wrote the storyline for Higurashi When They Cry, a critically praised visual novel. Also joining the team is Akira Yamaoka, a legend in the industry. Known for his work on various games within this series, including the memorable themes of Silent Hill 2 and its remake, which were up for Best Score at the 2024 The Game Awards.
The trailer evokes the familiar atmosphere of classic Silent Hill. Unlike many modern horror trailers filled with jump scares and cheap thrills, this one appears to be a sincere tribute to the original series’ eerie and distinctive charm. It seems that Konami is aiming to display the chilling essence that set the franchise apart, while also exploring a fresh environment that resonates deeply with the company itself.

Although Silent Hill’s gameplay may not fully reveal the terrifying secrets shrouded by the misty veil over Hinako’s town, the looming sense of fear players will encounter is undeniably tangible – a promising indicator indeed, even as fans remain cautious about potential missteps Konami might take in this project.
NeoBards Entertainment is the team behind the creation of this game. This studio has gained recognition through their collaborations with Capcom on various remakes and compilations, such as Dead Rising Deluxe and Mega Man: Battle Network Legacy Collection. They are also responsible for developing Resident Evil: Resistance.
Unfortunately, there’s no confirmed launch date yet for Silent Hill, but we do expect it to be available on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and personal computers via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows.
