Tom Burke, Steve Coogan, Hayley Squires, Charlotte Ritchie Board Netflix Drug Gang Drama ‘Legends’

Actors Tom Burke, Steve Coogan, and Hayley Squires have joined the cast of the Netflix thriller show titled “Legends”.

Drawing inspiration from one of the most extraordinary criminal investigations known, this six-part series narrates the story of a team of British Customs agents who go deep undercover to embed themselves within some of the nation’s deadliest drug cartels.

Aml Ameen, Jasmine Blackborow, Douglas Hodge, Tom Hughes, Johnny Harris, Gerald Kyd, and Charlotte Ritchie are among the new additions to the show’s ensemble.

During the early ’90s, illegal drug trafficking through Britain’s borders was proving challenging for Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise. An unconventional strategy was implemented. In a clandestine mission, a select group of Customs personnel were deployed undercover.

The assignment for them was to penetrate Britain’s deadliest drug cartels. However, these individuals were not professional spies; they were everyday people, selected from various communities across the U.K., given a brief training program and then asked to create new personas within the criminal underworld. These newly crafted personas were known as ‘Legends.’

I’m thrilled to join forces with the talented duo, Neil Forsyth, renowned for his work on “The Gold,” and directors Brady Hood, best known for “Top Boy,” and Julian Holmes, famous for “The Boys.” Together, we’re embarking on an exciting new project!

The executive producers for this project are Ben Farrell and Forsyth from Tannadice Pictures, as well as Richard Bradley from Lion Television. Charlie Leech serves as the series producer.
