As a devoted cinephile, I can’t help but express my excitement about the upcoming small-screen adaptation of Ridley Scott’s legendary movie, “Alien.” This franchise, brimming with Xenomorphs and dedicated fans, is now under the skillful guidance of Noah Hawley, who has already made waves with shows like “Fargo” and “Legion.” The series is titled “Alien: Earth.”
During a thrilling shareholders’ call led by Disney CEO, Bob Iger, we were given a sneak peek at a clip from the upcoming show. It seems the tension and high stakes of the original films are very much alive in this new venture – though whether anything will survive the arrival of the terrifying alien remains to be seen!
In the newly unveiled trailer at SXSW, we learn about a series where a young actress named Sydney Chandler portrays a character who, along with an assortment of tactical soldiers, stumbles upon a grave danger after an alien spacecraft crash-lands on Earth. In the suspenseful clip, one member from the spacecraft’s crew is seen typing on a computer while a woman cries for help beyond a sealed door. Despite his focused efforts on the keyboard, he gives off strong android/Ash vibes, and as a xenomorph attacks the woman, her desperate shouts can barely be heard through the thick glass. The computer screen finally reads “Crew status?” to which the android-like character replies “Crew dead.
Instead of merely reading an overview of the video, take a moment to watch it in the upcoming segment. This way, you can gather more information about the series that has been uncovered thus far.
