🔥🌎 “Trump, Musk, and a Side of Chaos: Europe Loses It” 🔥🌎
Because who doesn’t love a good protest? 🙋♀️ Various groups, including Democrats Abroad (basically, Americans living abroad, going “help!”) and local activist organizations, got together to express their, ahem, ‘displeasure’ with Trump and Musk’s trade shenanigans.
Germany: Where the “Hands Off!” Demo Was More Like “Hands Off, Donald, Seriously!”
In Frankfurt, Opernplatz was the spot where folks gathered to demand Trump’s resignation. Slogans? Oh, they had some goodies: “Restore Democracy” (yawn), “Hands off our personal data” (fair point), and the more… let’s say, ‘colorful’ “The world is tired of your bullshit Donald, be gone!” 🙅♂️ Berlin joined in, with some clever souls protesting outside a Tesla showroom because, why not? 🚀
Dogs Against DOGE: Because Who Doesn’t Love a Punny Protest Sign?
This one’s a personal favorite: a dog, in a placard, saying “Dogs against DOGE” 🐶😂. DOGE, for the uninitiated, stands for the Department of Government Efficiency, Musk’s baby in the Trump admin. The protesters were all, “Uh, no, thanks. We’re good on the ‘efficiency’ if it means more chaos.” 🙄
Paris, London, and the Rest: Because This Wasn’t Just a German Thing 🙅♂️
Paris? Check. Around 200 expats and activists on the Place de la République, waving banners that were just a tad dramatic (“Resist Tyrant”, anyone? 😏). London? Yep, Trafalgar Square was the spot for hundreds chanting “Hands off [Insert Country Here]” and looking generally unimpressed with the whole situation. 🙄
The World to U.S.: “Hey, Your Trade Policies Are, Uh, Something…” 🌎
So, it turns out, people are not fans of Trump’s trade tariffs. Who knew? 🤷♀️ These protests are less about the protests themselves and more about the global facepalm aimed at U.S. foreign policy. Just another day in the neighborhood, folks! 🌎
