Keith Olbermann Condemns Bill Maher’s Positive Visit With Trump, Says It’s “So He Can Keep His HBO Show”

Keith Olbermann isn’t buying Bill Maher’s recent shift in perspective of President Donald Trump.

On the latest episode of HBO’s Real Time hosted by Maher on Friday, he shared his recent encounter with the U.S. President. He characterized him as “gracious and composed” rather than the “character portraying a madman on television.” Nevertheless, Olbermann questions whether Maher’s shift in perspective is merely to preserve his HBO show.

Or, more concisely:

During his Friday episode of Real Time on HBO, Maher discussed his meeting with the U.S. President and described him as “gracious” and not like a TV character playing “crazy.” Olbermann wonders if this change in opinion from Maher is only to maintain his position at HBO.

By the way, Maher wasn’t truly selling himself to Trump, Olbermann implied in his recent post on platform X. He’s employed by the same autocratic forces as Warner that took over and compromised CNN.

Back in 1978, I’ve known Bill Maher, and over all these years, I’ve come to see him as a shameless opportunist lacking genuine principles.

During the latest episode of Real Time, the comedian expressed that he was sharing the truth about his trip to the White House and encouraged viewers to form their own opinions on the matter. He added that if sharing this information wasn’t enough anti-Trump sentiment for some people, he didn’t care one bit about their feelings.

The individual I encountered is not the same one who posted an offensive tweet storm the night before our dinner, criticizing this plan as foolish and labeling me as absurd. I found it rather peculiar since it was hardly a warm welcome. However, upon meeting him in person, I realized that the person behind those harsh words wasn’t the one residing there.” (162 characters)

Additionally, Maher was surprised when, during a comprehensive tour of the house, the conversation seemed to veer towards the 2020 election. Although I can’t recall the exact details of our discussion, I remember him using the word ‘lost’, which struck me as unusual. In response, I expressed my surprise by saying, “Wow, I never thought I’d hear you say that.” Remarkably, he didn’t react angrily. Instead, it appears he is more self-aware than his public persona suggests.
