Bella Ramsey burst onto the scene through an exceptionally chilling zombie series, where they portray the lone immune individual across the globe. However, there’s one interview query that they have grown tired of hearing repeatedly.
During her interview on Heart Radio, Ramsey voiced her annoyance about being repeatedly questioned about the same topic: “Preparing for playing an older Ellie in Season 2.” She explained, “Over the past three weeks, this is the question I’ve been asked the most: ‘Bella, since Ellie was 14 in Season 1 and now she’s 19 in Season 2, with a five-year age gap, how did you prepare to portray an older Ellie?'”
Ramsey exclaimed, “Ellie and I have both grown up now.” He added, “I don’t have anything new or interesting to share with you. I expect this question will be asked frequently over the next few weeks, so please understand that I’m a bit tired of answering it.
At the end of Season 1 of “The Last of Us“, Joel (Pedro Pascal) had managed to rescue Ellie from a Firefly research facility. Her unique immunity could have been the key to finding a cure for the devastating zombie virus sweeping the world, but that would have meant sacrificing Ellie’s life. Joel, in his quest to protect her, had left a trail of destruction behind him. The Last of Us Season 2 begins straight after this violent episode, and then fast forwards five years. Ellie is now living peacefully in the secure settlement of Jackson with Joel, and has a girlfriend named Dina (Isabela Merced).
Before commencing with the filming of the initial episode, they revealed that they had spent two months learning jujitsu and other martial arts, including boxing, fighting, and combat training. They added that they were prepared to defend themselves if needed. In line with this preparation, Ellie can be seen subduing someone in the first episode of Season 2.
There’s Danger Ahead For Ellie In The Last of Us Season 2
The second season of The Last of Us anticipates a significant amount of distress and sorrow, following the gruesome reputation of the video game. The premiere episode of season 2 underscores the perilous environment in which Ellie and Joel exist, as ominous vines emerge from an abandoned pipe. Additionally, a novel type of “stalker” infected individual has surfaced. As showrunner Craig Mazin explained, “We’re not introducing an entire category of new infected here; we only need one. And it’s possible that this is the only one in existence, but it’s different – and it seems to have been evolving just as humans have been, suggesting perhaps that nature has been adapting to the situation.
He went on, “It’s an interesting test for Ellie, and a test she fails, because if , she loses.”
The Last of Us is streaming now on HBO and Max.
