At present, Disney World Resort holds the unique distinction of housing the sole Michelin-starred restaurant among theme park resorts. This esteemed recognition has been bestowed upon Victoria & Albert’s yet again. The latest news was shared on the Disney Parks Blog with a press release detailed below.
Victoria & Albert’s is a highly acclaimed upscale restaurant situated within Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, nestled in Walt Disney World, Florida. Established in 1988 as one of the resort’s initial services, it swiftly gained recognition as Disney’s premier venue for lavish dining experiences.

The restaurant is called after Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert, and it embodies Victorian sophistication and traditional grandeur through its decor and service. Over time, it transformed from a more formal, conventional upscale eatery into a highly acclaimed culinary hotspot, regularly featured among the top restaurants in the United States.
The restaurant boasts multiple honors, such as the highly respected AAA Five Diamond Award (maintained since 2000) and Forbes Travel Guide’s Five-Star rating, placing it among the select restaurants in Florida that have attained both distinctions. It is renowned for its exquisite tasting menus, exceptional service, and an outstanding wine list expertly selected by a skilled sommelier.
As a film enthusiast, I’d say, “Victoria & Albert’s offers some truly distinctive dining adventures: the Main Dining Room, the regal Queen Victoria Room, and the exclusive Chef’s Table. At the Chef’s Table, you get an intimate, behind-the-scenes culinary experience, feasting on a customized meal right in the heart of the kitchen.

The restaurant had a significant renovation, reopening in the year 2022. It now sports modernized decor, yet still retains its classic sophistication. With esteemed chefs such as Scott Hunnel and Kevin Chong at the helm, Victoria & Albert’s continues to innovate culinary techniques while upholding its reputation for luxury and superior quality.

2021 sees the cast members at Victoria & Albert’s, the gastronomic gem at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa within Walt Disney World, rejoicing in maintaining their Michelin-starred title!
Over the past two decades, this establishment has been renowned for delivering an exquisite dining encounter characterized by opulent surroundings. The menu, designed meticulously, showcases multiple courses made with high-quality, eco-friendly ingredients procured globally.

In Chef Matthew Sowers’ words, “The selection and quality of ingredients form the foundation of our menu.” He uses the finest seafood from around the world and premium meat as a base for his dishes. As an example, the Glacier 51 Toothfish on the current menu is sourced only from the Arctic, where it’s found more than a mile beneath the ocean’s surface.
In the kitchen of Victoria & Albert, it takes collaboration to weave age-old customs with contemporary gastronomic skill, and there’s plenty of that going on. The dishes served to guests are a diverse array of bite-sized courses, drawing inspiration from the chefs’ journeys, cultural heritage, and personal tales.
Sharon, a long-time server at the restaurant, notes that the Miyazaki A-5 Wagyu currently offered is influenced by Chef Miguel’s Venezuelan heritage. In winter, beef and cabbage are essential components in his family’s meals. Similarly, the Norwegian King Crab reflects Chef Gabriella’s homeland of Norway. With chefs hailing from various parts of the world, each dish tells a unique story, creating a distinctive fine dining experience that only Disney can offer.

The menu at Disney’s MICHELIN-starred restaurant frequently changes according to the seasons, ensuring repeat visitors enjoy fresh and distinct tastes with each visit. To elevate the dining experience, a top-tier wine collection featuring over 500 options is meticulously matched with every course for an unforgettable journey from beginning to end.
Instead, if you ask the team about the key to their achievements, they won’t mention stars or accolades; rather, they’ll discuss the values that have driven them.
Chef Nathan explains, “We’re more like a family here. Each of us truly cares about the restaurant and one another.” He relocated from Pennsylvania to Florida specifically to be part of Victoria & Albert’s kitchen team, drawn by their excellent reputation. “Everyone on our team consistently exceeds expectations,” he says, “and we all share a common goal of achieving excellence.

Victoria & Albert’s is unique as it is the solitary restaurant run by an American theme park, Walt Disney World, that has earned a MICHELIN Star. This eatery serves as a remarkable testament to how Disney World consistently strives for culinary excellence. From delightful Disney-themed treats and immersive dining experiences in the parks, to extraordinary fine dining options like Victoria & Albert’s, they continue to set new standards in exceptional dining.
Congratulations to the cast of Victoria & Albert’s on this extraordinary distinction!
