Shannon Sharpe, a well-known former NFL player and podcast host, is currently facing accusations of sexual assault. A woman claims that he allegedly assaulted her sexually on two separate occasions spanning over a two-month period last year at her residence in Las Vegas.
Jane Doe, in a court case initiated on Sunday in Nevada, asserts claims of assault and is demanding at least $50 million. According to the lawsuit, Sharpe subjected the Plaintiff to two instances of violent sexual assault and anal rape in Las Vegas, disregarding her pleas for him to cease. The complaint further states that he repeated this act in January.
According to a statement issued by his lawyer, Lanny Davis, Sharpe openly identified his accuser and presented text messages which he claims demonstrate the relationship was consensual. He firmly denies all charges of coercion or inappropriate behavior, including the baseless claim of rape, and refuses to comply with what he considers an unfair attempt at extortion.
In the year 2023, Sharpe encountered a woman at a fitness center in Los Angeles. This is as stated in the legal claim. Their bond quickly developed into a romantic connection, encompassing mutual sexual activity. However, this relationship subsequently escalated into violence, as detailed in the lawsuit.
Following her move to Las Vegas, the woman asserts that Sharpe, having likewise moved to the same location, approached her aggressively and insisted she accompany him to her residence. Upon arrival, she alleges that he coerced her into performing oral sex and then proceeded to have sexual intercourse with her against her will.
Approximately three months later, in January, it is claimed that Sharpe assaulted her again, as stated in the lawsuit. According to the complaint, he “seized her, maneuvering her and arranging her to perform oral sex, which continued for approximately two minutes.” Afterward, the lawsuit alleges that Sharpe changed positions and roughly compelled himself upon her.
This legal action involves accusations of sexual assault and causing severe emotional harm through verbal abuse, as well as other related issues. Moreover, Sharpe is currently facing a lawsuit in the New York state court, filed by his former girlfriend, who claims he coerced her into performing oral sex.
Tony Buzbee, known for handling numerous cases against Sean “Diddy” Combs on behalf of multiple accusers, is the legal representative for the woman filing a lawsuit against Sharpe.
Previously, Sharpe signed a multi-year contract with ESPN, broadening his responsibilities within their flagship program, First Take, widely regarded as one of their most prominent shows.
