Currently, Emraan Hashmi is enjoying accolades for his acting in the latest movie, Ground Zero. Upcoming projects for him include Awarapan 2, officially confirmed. Emraan has recently disclosed the amount of time spent fine-tuning the script for the sequel and hinted that filming will start in July 2025.
In a recent conversation with News18 Showsha, actor Emraan Hashmi discussed the growing popularity of his movie “Awarapan” over the years. He mentioned that fans have been asking for a sequel to this film for about 15 years.
Reminiscing about a delightful incident, the actor once told us that around six months ago in Dubai, a fan showed him an Awarapan tattoo, which had a pigeon and liberty as its design. Emraan then communicated to Vishesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, expressing his appreciation for the fact that they were indeed achieving something commendable.
Speaking about the production of Awarapan 2, Emraan Hashmi shared, “We’ve been refining the script for nearly two years now.” He emphasized that they were not rushing into making a sequel merely for the sake of it.
When inquired about the commencement date, Emraan shared that we’ll likely start by the end of July.
On March 24, 2025, Emraan Hashmi marked his birthday by presenting fans with a surprise: Awarapan 2. In an announcement video, we got a sneak peek of scenes featuring him and Shriya Saran from the original movie. The video concluded with the text, “The Journey Continues…” in reference to Awarapan 2.
