Despite residing in the United States alongside husband Gene Goodenough, Preity Zinta is committed to nurturing a strong connection to their Indian heritage for her twins. In a recent Q&A session with fans on social media platform X (previously Twitter), Preity openly discussed motherhood, identity, and her aspiration to preserve traditions for future generations.

The well-recognized actress, famed for her performances in movies such as Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer-Zaara, and Dil Chahta Hai, disclosed that she and her spouse have chosen to instill Hindu beliefs in their offspring. She explained this decision was rooted in her desire for her children, who are growing up abroad, to maintain a strong connection with their Indian roots.

As a mother and resident of a different country, Preity shared that she wants to ensure her children remain connected to their Indian heritage,”She also mentioned that since her spouse identifies as agnostic, they will be raising their children with the Hindu religion.

Preity referred to it as her “pure delight,” and she contemplated that this choice was a deeply emotional and heartfelt one, stemming from love and pride in her cultural background. She emphasized the significance of passing down Indian traditions and values to her children, despite them growing up away from the country she considers home.

In 2021, their twins, Jai and Gia, were born to the pair through surrogacy. Preity and Gene tied the knot at a private ceremony held in Los Angeles on February 29, 2016. Since then, the actress has been dividing her time between her personal life overseas and her professional commitments in India.

Preity Zinta, who resides in the U.S., often makes trips to India, particularly during the Indian Premier League (IPL) season. As a joint owner of the Punjab Kings team, she maintains an active role in its management, showing her trademark excitement from the stands for the team.
