Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’ Returns to IMAX: Don’t Miss Out!

If you haven’t seen Ryan Coogler’s highly acclaimed vampire film yet, you’ll get the chance to experience it on a grand scale at IMAX. Warner Bros. has confirmed that there will be extra 70mm screenings of this supernatural thriller in cinemas this month.

Warner Bros. announced that the period horror thriller, Sinners, featuring Michael B. Jordan, will be screened at nine IMAX theaters across North America from May 15th to May 21st. This includes movie theaters in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Dallas, Toronto, and other cities. Tickets for this re-release are now available, giving film enthusiasts the opportunity to watch Sinners in its optimal format.

In response to an extremely positive audience reception, Warner Bros. decided to offer viewers another chance to watch the movie on IMAX screens. Jeff Goldstein, president of global distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures, expressed that “the audience has made their preferences clear and we’ve taken notice”. He continued, “If there was ever a film that required the grandeur of the IMAX format for an unparalleled viewing experience, it’s ‘Sinners.'” Ryan, the director, has created a movie that resonates with fans who value the intricacies involved in crafting films for such expansive screens, and Warner Bros. wanted to provide everyone the chance to see it or re-watch it on IMAX’s 70mm screen.

Besides it, the movie titled “Sinners” has also experienced tremendous box office success. The initial release and grossed an impressive $181.4 million, surpassing its original budget of $90 million. During its opening weekend, a significant 20% of “Sinners'” revenue was generated from large-format cinemas, making it a hit for IMAX. Notably, the announcement of future IMAX re-releases for “Sinners” comes as it gives up its 70mm screens this week to make room for the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster, “Thunderbolts.

Set during the Jim Crow era in Mississippi, the story Sinners follows Smoke and Stack, twin brothers and veterans of World War I, who return home hoping to leave their past traumas behind. However, they soon discover that some of the new acquaintances they’ve made upon their return are actually disguised vampires, triggering a violent struggle for survival. Joining Jordan (the protagonist) in this tale are Mary, Annie, Miles Caton as Sammie “Preacher Boy” Moore, Remmick, Jayme Lawson as Pearline, and Delta Slim.
