Looking for a ranked list of Overwatch characters in the style of a stadium tier? You’ve come to the right place!
This rank list will guide you in choosing your primary character for the latest game mode.
As an avid gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the introduction of Stadium in Overwatch 2! This innovative mode significantly boosts the game’s replayability by allowing players like me to craft our own builds and purchase power-ups between rounds. Earning credits through gameplay is a mechanic reminiscent of League of Legends, adding an extra layer of strategy and excitement.
In contrast to regular gameplay, the hero selection pool within the Overwatch 2 Stadium is more compact, and once chosen, you cannot switch heroes because of the unique format. Therefore, to maximize success, it’s advisable to select a character with exceptional strength.
Overwatch 2 Stadium Tier List
Before I begin, let’s set some ground rules:
- I’ll break the tier list by role. Sure, I’ll have all heroes in a single-tier list, but I will then go into detail about which are the best DPS, tank, and support heroes.
- Overwatch Stadium builds are unpredictable and can take different paths. They also don’t function in a vacuum; a great build against a specific comp can be useless against another. With that said, I’ll try to pick the best scenario possible for each hero.
- Tier lists are not an exact science, so this is all for fun!
Best DPS In Overwatch Stadium
For my ranking, I went with this:
- S-Tier: Soldier 76
- A-Tier: Genji, Cassidy, Reaper
- B-Tier: Mei
- D-Tier: Ashe
As a dedicated Overwatch player, I can confidently say that there’s no doubt in my mind about the superiority of Soldier: 76 when it comes to dealing damage. He’s not just easy to get the hang of, but he packs quite a punch with some game-altering build combinations.
The Chaingun is an absolute joy to use, offering a wealth of utility through its ability to grant a .5% weapon damage boost for every consecutive shot fired. Pair this with items that increase ammo capacity, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for causing mayhem in the battlefield.
As a gamer, if you’re not into hitscan characters, Genji is probably your best pick to contribute effectively to your team. While Iaido Strike, his flashy move that lets him slash with his Dragonblade after deflecting, is cool, your initial focus should be on Wyrm’s Maw. Using Swift Strike on enemies hit by shurikens within the last four seconds empowers this ability, granting a 10% damage boost. The best part? This buff can stack up to five times!
Regardless, it’s best to steer clear of Ash. She doesn’t have the offensive capabilities, the advantages that boost her effectiveness, or the agility to distinguish herself in a game such as Overwatch Arena.
Or:
Whatever happens, don’t use Ash at all costs. She doesn’t have the firepower, benefits to make her strong, or mobility to shine in an arena like Overwatch Stadium.
Best Tanks In Overwatch Stadium
For tanks, this is my ranking:
- S-Tier: Zarya
- A-Tier: Junkerqueen
- B-Tier: Orisa and Reinhardt
- C-Tier: D.Va
Among all the tanks in Overwatch Stadium, Zarya is indisputably the top performer. Compared to the other tanks, she generally handles most of them quite effectively, with the possible exception of Reinhardt.

As a dedicated admirer, I’d express it like this: This character boasts astonishing early-game prowess, with abilities such as No Limits that skyrockets her maximum energy to 150, boosting it by an impressive 150%. This sets her apart significantly from other tanks in the initial stages. If you manage a strong opening round and acquire the Epic Bigger Beam item, you’re well on your way to becoming a force to be reckoned with. This item not only enhances damage by 10% but also extends the primary fire by 20%, thereby reducing the need for overextension and its associated risks.
In simpler terms, when it comes to my favorite tanks, Junkerqueen ranks second. While Zarya can adapt her playstyle based on various objectives due to her ability to customize her builds, Junkerqueen primarily focuses on sustaining herself and her team. Her abilities include Thrill of Battle, which also heals allies within 12 meters for up to half the healing she receives, and Let’s Go Win, which resets her Commanding Shout cooldown.
For other tank options, Orisa and Reinhardt are reliable choices if you’re unsure about picking another hero in this role, but they may not be effective enough to outperform top-tier tanks. As for D.Va, she struggles significantly against several tanks in the Stadium map, making her a less than ideal choice by default.
Best Healers In Overwatch Stadium
Finally, for healers, this is my ranking:
- S-Tier: Juno
- A-Tier: Kiriko, Mercy
- B-Tier: Lucio
- C-Tier: Moira, Ana
Juno stands out among the notable characters in Overwatch Stadium. For a fully-healing robot build, consider using the Medicinal Missiles ability (Pulsar Torpedoes heal an additional 30 HP and increase healing by 50% for 3 seconds on allies hit by them). If you’re looking for a balanced combination of damage output and healing, the Medimaster skill is the best choice (it allows Juno to score critical hits on both allies and enemies).

Certainly, healers such as Kiriko and Mercy are not lacking in skill. You can take advantage of Kiriko’s damage output by using Foxy Fireworks, which causes your next three kunai to explode and deal an extra 20 points of damage after reloading. Alternatively, you can become a reliable source of support with Two-Zu, as it gives Protection Suzu an additional charge.
From my perspective, I always rely on Mercy’s agility, making moves like Renaissance (post a successful Resurrect, activate Valkyrie for 5 seconds) my preferred strategy. Furthermore, I maximize Valkyrie’s potential with Crepuscular Circle, a move that simultaneously amplifies both healing and damage effects.
