Hey there fellow gamers, just wanted to share some news that hit me hard yesterday. On Tuesday, it came out that Riccardo Tisci, someone I previously admired, found himself in hot water with the New York Supreme Court. Apparently, a man accused him of spiking his drink and taking advantage of him on June 29, 2024 – a date that now carries an unfortunate memory for me too. Hopefully, justice will be served and this allegation can be properly addressed.
As a fan sharing my personal take on events, I’m referring to an article in The Independent about a disturbing incident involving Riccardo Tisci. According to a man named Patrick Cooper, who met Tisci (the former creative director of Burberry and Givenchy) through a mutual friend, they went clubbing together in Manhattan. However, things took a turn for the worse when Cooper claims that Tisci secretly drugged his drink at a restaurant called 2 Sisters 4 Brothers in Harlem. This left him disoriented and unable to resist or defend himself. Cooper recounted feeling so confused that he didn’t know where he was, what he was doing, or what Tisci was doing to him.
In simpler terms, Cooper claims he was unwillingly taken to Riccardo Tisci’s SoHo apartment where an assault occurred. He explained, “I didn’t intend to find myself in Riccardo Tisci’s bedroom. When I regained consciousness, he was kissing me.” After the alleged incident of “predatory, sexual, and illegal actions,” Cooper stated that he awoke next to Tisci without clothes on the following morning. That same day, he went to the hospital for a rape kit examination and promptly contacted the NYPD to submit a report.
Nevertheless, a representative for Tisci firmly dismissed the claims. “The assertions are entirely baseless. Riccardo is eager to establish the truth and clear his reputation from these unfounded and harmful allegations. He will achieve exoneration via the legal process,” the spokesperson stated.
50-year-old Italian fashion designer took over as creative director of Givenchy back in 2005, becoming known for teaming up with artists such as Kanye West and Jay-Z. In 2018, he moved to Burberry and spearheaded a major redesign. After leaving the British brand in 2022, Tisci has revitalized his own label and introduced fresh collaborations with Nike by 2025.
At the current moment, neither Riccardo Tisci nor his representatives have issued any formal comments regarding the ongoing situation.
