Jack Antonoff Named ASCAP’s Songwriter of the Year at 2025 Pop Awards

At the 2025 Pop Awards held at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles on a Thursday night, Jack Antonoff was awarded ASCAP’s title of the yearly pop songwriter.

Antonoff gained recognition for his collaborative work on popular songs such as Sabrina Carpenter’s chart-topper “Please Please Please,” along with his contributions to Taylor Swift’s tracks like “Anti-Hero,” “Folklore,” “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart,” “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)” and “Karma.” A prominent figure in the music industry as both a songwriter and producer, last year he was involved in producing several tracks for Swift’s album “The Tortured Poets Department,” several tracks on Kendrick Lamar’s project “GNX” and Carpenter’s album “Short n’ Sweet.

Simultaneously, Teddy Swims’ song “Lose Control,” penned by ASCAP writer Joshua “Ammo” Coleman and a chart-topper on Billboard’s Hot 100 for an impressive 88 weeks, was named Pop Song of the Year. In the same year, Sony Music Publishing, whose notable tracks included Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”, and Chappell Roan’s “Hot To Go”, received the title of Music Publisher of the Year.

The following day after the Music Screen Awards, which ASCAP organized on Wednesday, they went ahead to host the Pop Awards. During the Music Screen Awards, Trent Reznor, Jeff Toyne, David Fleming, and Nainita Desai were recognized as winners of the Composer’s Choice Award.

Other writers honored on Thursday were Amy Allen, a collaborator on Carpenter hits like Espresso, who was previously awarded Songwriter of the Year at the Grammys in February; Beyoncé, Dan Nigro, Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Justin Tranter, Justin Timberlake, Noah Khan, Dua Lipa, Shaboozey and Victoria Monet.
