WAVES Summit 2025: Lyca Group and Mahaveer Jain Films announce global partnership to produce 9 Indian feature films

To fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of establishing India as a prominent center for content production on a global scale, Lyca Group (UK-Europe) and Mahaveer Jain Films have decided to collaborate in creating nine impactful Indian feature films aimed at international viewers over the next three years.

Lyca Group’s film division, recognized for prominent works such as Robot 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and the Mani Ratnam-directed Ponniyin Selvan I & II, is collaborating with Mahaveer Jain Films, the production house behind Uunchai in association with Rajshri Productions.

At the current WAVES 2025 conference, which aims to establish India as a significant player on the global stage within the media and entertainment industry, the partnership was officially unveiled.

The announcement was made after a gathering involving Dr. Allirajah Subaskaran (Lyca Group Chairman), Mahaveer Jain (producer), and prominent government officials such as Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw (Information & Broadcasting Minister), Shri Devendra Fadnavis (Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister), and Dr. L. Murugan (Minister of State for I&B).

In unison, Subaskaran and Jain commended Prime Minister Modi’s visionary guidance, expressing that this is an ideal moment to showcase India’s abundant culture, philosophies, and tales globally through captivating filmmaking. They described their films as a modest homage to the honorable PM Modi, who persistently strives to enhance India and the world for upcoming generations.

The Lyca Group is a multinational business conglomerate that spans various sectors such as telecommunications, healthcare, travel, and entertainment in 23 different nations worldwide. Meanwhile, Mahaveer Jain Films boasts an impressive lineup of upcoming productions, one of which is Naagzilla featuring Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan.

A globally exciting film produced by Siddharth Anand, starring Vikrant Massey as spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, an emotional exploration of friendship with Imtiaz Ali, and a biographical drama about renowned chess player Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand.

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the highly anticipated annual event, WAVES 2025, kicked off in Mumbai. This inaugural World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit was orchestrated by the Indian government to highlight the dynamic media and entertainment industry within the country.
