Lately, I’ve found myself immersed in classic video games due to Steam Deck emulation and my Anbernic handheld systems. However, this fascination with the past has left me with less time to explore new releases. Frankly, not many contemporary games have piqued my interest as of late, except for Marvel Rivals.
Perhaps the upcoming game “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” could help me break free from my nostalgic gaming phase. The buzz around this turn-based RPG is quite strong, with some even drawing parallels to Final Fantasy. It seems that many gamers are finding joy in this fresh journey, making it appear as though this expedition is definitely worth embarking on.
Almost everyone seems to find the tale of Expedition 33 captivating. One day, a puzzling entity erected a tower in our world, setting the duration of human lifespan. Starting from 100, this figure has been decreasing annually, causing life spans to grow shorter for all. Now, with the number at a concerning 33, this latest expedition aims to unravel the mystery.
To begin with, this is the starting point for “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33”. And let me tell you, it certainly grabs everyone’s focus right off the bat!
One noteworthy feature of this game is its engaging combat system, which seems to blend elements reminiscent of Persona 5 Royal and the Paper Mario series. A testament to this fusion is the ability for players to perform last-second dodges or timely parries against enemies.
Did you know? The latest installment of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy 16, features last-minute dodges and parries in its real-time combat system. However, it appears that many fans have lost interest in this game due to its real-time combat style. Let’s move on…
Given the widespread acclaim for “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33“, it’s hard not to feel a pang of ‘wish I were playing that’ (FOMO) at the moment. Boasting a captivating art style, intriguing characters, and an engaging combat system, this game has plenty to offer. Its inspiration from numerous JRPG classics only enhances its appeal.
Admittedly, I haven’t grown tired of the nostalgic gaming vibe I find myself immersed in at the moment. There are numerous entertaining Pokémon rom hacks that I’ve been attempting, each one proving enjoyable. I’m progressively advancing through Dragon Quest 8, a captivating JRPG that continues to be a joy to conquer. Due to my affection for retro games, it’s likely that I’ll indulge in a few more before ultimately settling down to play Expedition 33.
I’m grateful that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 promises to be a worthy wait. The game’s enthusiasts have shown remarkable restraint by not revealing significant plot points on social media, demonstrating their deep affection for the title. Given the delay of GTA 6, this upcoming RPG could potentially claim the Game of the Year award in 2025.
