Meadowlark Media CEO John Skipper is exiting the media company.
In 2021, Skipper teamed up with radio host Dan Le Batard to establish Meadowlark. Their aim was to transition their show onto digital platforms. As the previous president of ESPN, Skipper later drove Meadowlark to create documentaries and unscripted content, securing a first-look deal with Apple TV+. He also developed a multi-format franchise called “Sports Explains the World“, which includes both series and podcasts.
On his social media platforms, Le Batard shared that the company plans to keep creating documentaries, with Skipper set to maintain an active role in offering “direction and advice” to the company.
I’m extremely grateful to John Skipper for his friendship and I’m eager for his continued leadership and guidance, both on and off camera,” Le Batard penned. “I challenged him to establish a successful, autonomous media company within four years, and he did just that. Meadowlark Media will continue to create films and documentaries. Our audio-visual network is flourishing, and we’re excited to announce some positive updates soon in this area. I couldn’t be more thankful that under Skipper’s leadership, we’ve sailed through today’s stormy media landscape and reached much calmer waters.
