Chloë Sevigny Pitched Herself to Luca Guadagnino to Play Jean Again in New ‘American Psycho’ Film

Chloë Sevigny wants in on Luca Guadagnino‘s new American Psycho film.

In the year 2000, Sevigny portrayed Patrick Bateman’s secretary, Jean, in the satirical film directed by Mary Harron. Upon learning that Guadagnino would helm a fresh adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ novel with the same title, she expressed her enthusiasm to the director.

Recently, Sevigny proposed to him an idea: to have her reprise the role of Jean and apply reverse-aging effects. She believed this idea would appeal to him, as it involves the same actress playing the same character twice.” (IndieWire reported.)

The actress from “Monsters” went on to say, “He mentioned he had another idea in mind for me.” The auditions are ongoing for the character of Jean, and there’s also the significant role of Bateman, previously played by Christian Bale.

There have been several actors suggested for the role of Bateman, including Austin Butler and Patrick Schwarzenegger, among others. Previously, Kerry Barden, the casting director from the original film, mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter that he believes Austin Butler would be more suitable for the part originally played by Jared Leto as Paul Allen. According to Barden, “I’d cast Austin in Jared’s role because he possesses that striking beauty, which is why we initially chose Jared. Jared is indeed a talented actor, and so is Austin. However, not every performer embodies that unique kind of beauty.

Regarding Schwarzenegger, he responded to a fan’s tweet about X on Wednesday, expressing that Bateman could be his standout character, saying “I’d love nothing more,” accompanied by a wink emoji.

The movie “American Psycho,” directed by Guadagnino, will be produced under the banner of Lionsgate, with a screenplay written by Scott Z. Burns. A release date for this production has not been disclosed as of now.
