Amazon Prime Video has announced plans to create a follow-up to its most successful film yet. Throughout its tenure, this streaming service, which is owned by Amazon, has enjoyed a number of major successes, such as “The Idea of You,” “The Tomorrow War,” and Camila Cabello’s “Cinderella.” However, there’s one title that consistently ranks at the top for the platform.

Viewing-wise, “Road House” remains the most-watched Amazon Original Movie on Prime Video, a whole year following its premiere.

In terms of getting close to its impressive benchmark, only Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s movie Red One has come remotely close. Amazon Prime Video’s Biggest Movies on the Way for 2025 & Beyond

It’s been announced this week that Amazon Prime Video’s reboot of “Road House,” featuring Jake Gyllenhaal, will receive a sequel on their platform under the direction of an acclaimed action director. Known as “Road House 2“, this project represents the initial continuation following Prime Video’s most-watched streaming movie ever. It made its debut to 50 million viewers in its first fortnight on the platform in March 2024.

This time, the sequel to “Road House” is being helmed by acclaimed action director Guy Ritchie, with screenwriter Will Beall of “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” fame handling the script.

Deep Cover

Featuring stars such as Bryce Dallas Howard, Orlando Bloom, and Ian McShane, the highly anticipated series titled “Deep Cover” will make its debut on Amazon Prime Video from June 12, 2025.

A comedic action film penned by Colin Trevorrow, known for his work on “Jurassic World,” narrates the tale of three improvisational performers who are enlisted by London’s police force to operate covertly within the shady depths of England’s criminal underworld.

Heads of State

One more summer blockbuster-style production coming up on Amazon Prime Video is the action comedy titled “Heads of State,” set to release on July 2, 2025.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the latest flick hailing from the creative mind behind “Hardcore Henry,” Ilya Naishuller, has an impressive cast including John Cena, Idris Elba, and Priyanka Chopra. This action-packed thriller sees two world leaders finding common ground in the face of an international plot that ironically places them both squarely in its crosshairs.

Our Fault

The next film in the “Culpa Mia” trilogy, which will be available on Amazon Prime Video, is titled “Our Fault” (or “Culpa Nuestra”). This new romantic drama serves as the concluding chapter in the popular series, continuing to explore the controversial romance between step-siblings Nick and Noah.

Other than being scheduled for a release in October, no particular date for the premiere of “Our Fault” has been fixed as of now.

Oh. What. Fun.

Starting off the festive season, we have the hilarious Christmas comedy “Oh. What. Fun” streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

The upcoming movie directed by Michael Showalter from “Wet Hot American Summer,” offers a cheerful twist on the missing-person thriller genre. As Michelle Pfeiffer’s character, Claire (who enjoys celebrations), goes missing, it falls upon her family to locate her in time for the upcoming holiday event.

The Man with the Bag

In the upcoming holidays of 2025, the action comedy titled “The Man with the Bag” featuring Awkwafinam, renowned actor Alan Ritchson from Reacher, and the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger will hit the screens.

A man carrying a bag trails a gang of small-time crooks, who are subsequently enlisted by Santa Claus, portrayed by Schwarzenegger, as his toy-filled satchel inexplicably vanishes prior to Christmas.

Road House 2

In March 2024, the movie titled “Road House” was unveiled as a remake of the 1989 original starring Patrick Swayze. The film features Gyllenhaal portraying a previous boxer who secures a bouncer position at a run-down bar in the Florida Keys.

2024 saw the blockbuster hit on Amazon Prime Video, titled “The Unnamed Movie,” being helmed by the talented director Doug Liman (known for films like “The Bourne Identity” and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”). This production boasted a star-studded lineup featuring the likes of Gyllenhaal, Daniela Melchior, ex-UFC champion Conor McGregor, and renowned American pop artist Post Malone.
