Megan Thee Stallion Sneaks Phone Inside Met Gala to Give Food Review: “I’m Not Supposed to Have This”

At the Met Gala, Megan Thee Stallion really said no-phone policy, who?

The Grammy-winning rapper graced one of fashion’s most significant events in New York City, donning a personalized Michael Kors dress. Climbing the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum, she proceeded to enter the tightly guarded event, renowned for its confidentiality.

Although Anna Wintour at the Met Gala enforces a no-phone rule, Megan Thee Stallion provided a glimpse into the evening’s culinary offerings by sharing a video on her Instagram. This venture was supported by fellow rapper Doechii and basketball star Angel Reese, who also offered their opinions about the food in the post. Megan playfully captioned the video as “Hottie Cam at the MET GALA”.

Initially, we had cornbread and caviar. “I approve!” Doechii expressed, while Megan chimed in, “I insisted it was tasty, but she doubted me,” gesturing towards Reese.

Additionally on the menu were a white truffle lobster roll, vegan substitute for lox, curry-coated chicken bites, and hamachi sushi. “I adore it!” remarked Doechii about the white truffle lobster roll, but Megan wasn’t as fond of the vegan lox.

In the video, the rapper commented later on, “We’re not allowed to use our phones,” and Tracee Ellis Ross jokingly chimed in, “Absolutely not! Hide your phone.

Megan confessed that she had secretly brought the phone along, and subsequently revealed some extra footage captured within the event. She emphasized that she wasn’t allowed to possess it.

Every year, the Met Gala takes place – it’s a fundraising event organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, specifically for their Costume Institute. This event is tied to the spring fashion exhibition that they host. In 2025, the exhibit will be called “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which finds its inspiration in Monica L. Miller’s book from 2009 titled “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity“. To align with the theme, attendees and celebrity stylists were given a challenge: they had to interpret the dress code for this event, which was “Tailored for you.

For this year’s occasion, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, along with Wintour, served as co-chairs. Although LeBron James was appointed honorary chair, he unfortunately had to miss the event due to a knee injury.
