Charlie Cox Jokingly Told Jamie Dornan He’s “Too Good-Looking” For Hollywood Early in Career

In Charlie Cox‘s eyes, Jamie Dornan was just too handsome for Hollywood.

In a recent interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, the star of “Daredevil: Born Again” shared stories from his past friendship circle, comprising himself, Jamie Dornan, Eddie Redmayne, Andrew Garfield, and Robert Pattinson. They spent their early years in Los Angeles together before they became famous.

He mentioned a fantastic photo saved on his computer that shows us on Venice Beach, both out of work and short on funds, anticipating the next audition. Essentially, he was waiting for someone to confirm our lack of talent so we could abandon this unreasonable aspiration and return home.

He spoke about a wonderful picture he had stored on his computer depicting us at Venice Beach when we were unemployed, penniless, and waiting for another audition. In essence, he was looking forward to someone proving our incompetence so that we could abandon this futile dream and return home.

Yet, it’s not surprising given their subsequent success, but it’s worth noting that at the start of their careers, Cox reminisced about them all vying for the same acting roles.

He explained that everyone would record each other, and offer assistance in return. Afterwards, they’d ask, “Did you catch anything? I didn’t catch anything. Did you catch anything?” in a playful manner.

In the beginning phases of their careers, some people found greater success compared to others, but Cox offers a unique perspective as to why Dornan faced difficulties securing roles at first.

Back then, Andrew seemed dangerous to us, and we were concerned about him,” Cox jokingly remarked. “The funny thing was, at one point Jamie had a long period without work, and we thought it might be because he was too attractive. I’d tease him by saying, ‘You’re just not convincing! It’s not realistic. You won’t get cast in anything!’

Even though Cox’s theory lacked substantial truth, Dornan went on to achieve significant fame as he portrayed a key role in the Fifty Shades of Grey series alongside Dakota Johnson. He has also appeared in various other projects such as The Tourist, The Fall, and Belfast.
