The series captivated audiences with its rich fantasy elements, intriguing love dynamics, and thrilling battle sequences; however, it was the characters that truly stole the spotlight. The primary trio – Stefan, Damon, and Elena – were undeniably compelling, but secondary characters like Caroline Forbes soon became just as captivating, even outshining the love triangle at times. Her character arc was particularly intriguing, sparking much debate and speculation among the Vampire Diaries fanbase.
Initially, Caroline embarked on life as a discontented teenager, not particularly happy with her human existence. She was envious and uncertain, but her character underwent a profound transformation following Katherine’s actions that transformed her into a vampire. Over the course of The Vampire Diaries, Caroline experienced thrilling romances and adventures, which have sparked intriguing speculations about her character development and narrative arc on the series.
Caroline Was Born to Be a Vampire
When Katherine chose to transform Caroline into a vampire, it was meant to be an act of vengeance. However, this transformation proved to be a blessing for Caroline as it brought about a change within her. Unlike most who were transformed and either became their darkest selves or experienced heightened emotions and impulses, Caroline found herself transforming into the best version of herself after becoming a vampire.
As a movie reviewer, I can’t help but marvel at the captivating portrayal of Caroline, a character who seems to embody the essence of vampirism unlike any other. It appears that she was preordained for this role, not by choice, but by some unknown factor – be it a unique gene or an enchanting magical quality. After her transformation, she stood out among all other vampires for her newfound calmness, maturity, and unshakable confidence. Indeed, Caroline seems to have been born to be a vampire.
Caroline Was Always In Love With Stefan
beginning in Season 6, Caroline was officially paired with Stefan, yet some fans speculate that she may have harbored feelings for him as early as Season 1. When Stefan expressed interest in Elena, Caroline also felt drawn to him, but Stefan politely declined her advances. As a result, Caroline began dating other men; however, it’s plausible that her affection for Stefan never truly waned.
Despite Caroline successfully persuading others that she was merely Stefan’s friend, deep within her heart, she harbored feelings for him. She waited patiently until the moment arrived when she discovered Elena’s genuine love for Damon and realized Stefan was single again. It was then that Caroline began to reveal her true emotions towards him. Throughout her relationships with Matt, Tyler, and Klaus, Stefan remained a constant presence in her heart.
Caroline Could Give Birth to Gemini Twins Because She Was Part Witch
The Gemini sisters, Josie and Lizzie, lived on thanks to the coven performing a magical act. They managed to move the twins from Jo’s failing body into Caroline, who was the lone healthy person left amidst the chaos of Alaric and Jo’s wedding. This seemed impossible since Caroline was a vampire, thought to be incapable of fostering human life. Yet, there are those who suggest that perhaps Caroline had witch blood in her veins.
To put it simply, Caroline hailed from Mystic Falls, a place rich in magical lore. The Bennett witches had strong influence there, leading us to suspect a distant blood relation between Caroline and them, similar to the doppelgängers. This connection might have enabled her to bear twins Josie and Lizzie. In other words, Caroline wasn’t an ordinary human; she possessed unique supernatural traits that set her apart from others.
Klaus Knew Caroline From a Past Life
Initially surprising yet captivating for spectators, the event unfolded swiftly. At first glance, Klaus appeared indifferent towards Caroline, but upon meeting her, something within him changed. Speculations among fans suggest that this transformation was due to his recognition of her, hinting at a past connection between them from a former existence.
During one of their encounters, Klaus gave Caroline a bracelet, remarking that it once belonged to a princess. Although the concept of past lives and reincarnation didn’t align with the lore of TVD, doppelgängers and faces recurring across generations were common. As a result, fans speculated that Klaus recognized Caroline from a former life, explaining his immediate, intense bond with her.
Caroline Actually Belonged In The Originals
As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I can’t help but ponder over the captivating dynamic between Klaus and Caroline. With their undeniable chemistry, it’s no wonder fans speculate that they might have found a profound connection off-screen too. When Klaus departed for New Orleans, Caroline opted to remain in Mystic Falls, a choice that left many of us wondering if she would have flourished in the vibrant city he now calls home. Beyond the allure of being with Klaus, New Orleans presented an opportunity for Caroline to truly showcase her unique abilities, something she hadn’t been able to do quite as extensively in Mystic Falls.
In a different turn of events, Caroline might have ascended to the throne as the Queen of New Orleans alongside Klaus, navigating the genuine power struggles among witches, vampires, and werewolves. Unfortunately, her abilities went unrealized in a quaint town, and it seems Caroline was destined for grander endeavors. This notion is bolstered by the fact that Camille, a character on The Originals, can be seen as an alternate portrayal of Caroline tailored for the series.
Caroline’s Humanity Switch Is Different From Other Vampires
An alternative perspective suggests that Caroline’s distinctiveness as a vampire arises from the fact that her ‘humanity on/off’ mechanism differs from others’. Unlike Stefan, Damon, and most other vampires who either succumbed to Ripper tendencies or became extremely violent when they switched off their humanity, Caroline remained non-violent but stoic. This behavior had never been observed in any other vampire before, leading viewers to speculate that there might be something exceptional about Caroline.
Unlike other vampires such as Elena, who resorted to violence and arson after losing her humanity, Caroline exhibited a unique response to her own loss of humanity. As a novice vampire, she demonstrated an exceptional ability to manipulate people without formal instruction; however, unlike others in her situation, she did not seek to inflict harm on people. Instead, she desired to remain emotionally detached.
Caroline Could Have Been a Villain
Although Caroline is often portrayed as a heroic character, she possessed the capability of becoming a villain. In reality, many of her actions, especially when she turned to the dark side, were quite severe. These malevolent acts, however, were masked by her cheerful personality. For instance, she murdered 12 witches to safeguard Bonnie, and even took her own mother hostage upon discovering that she was a vampire.
Through her unique powers as a vampire, Caroline held the potential to be a formidable antagonist. Joining forces with Klaus, she might have effortlessly toppled Mystic Falls, earning the title of the greatest villain ever known. This hypothesis implied that she possessed the means to become a villain and could have indeed done so. However, Caroline’s compassionate heart prevented her from taking such a path.
Caroline Was the True Representative of Humanity
On the show, while Elena represented compassion and humanity, Caroline’s storyline resonated strongly with these themes. This perspective suggests that Caroline was essentially the main character because she grappled with moral dilemmas, motherhood, and loyalty, which truly reflected the human experience. Although Elena often spoke about maintaining her humanity, it was Caroline who experienced it in a more profound way.
Despite being forced into a life of vampirism against her wishes, she became the most compassionate vampire on the series. Following her mother’s passing, she found solace and rediscovered her innermost self. In time, she chose to establish an institution that would cultivate the potential of other supernatural children, helping them become better versions of themselves. Essentially, she was the soul of the show; she even influenced Klaus, a notoriously inhumane character, towards kindness and compassion.
Caroline Got Sire Bonded to Klaus When She Drank His Blood
From my perspective as a captivated spectator, while some viewers dream of a fateful romance between Klaus and Caroline, others, like myself, might lean toward the idea that their connection could have been unintentionally forged by a sire bond. This intriguing twist might have occurred when he offered his blood directly from his vein to Caroline after Tyler had bitten her, as it was following this moment that they seemed to share an incredibly strong bond. Given that Klaus commanded an entire hybrid army bound to him through sire bonds, the possibility of a similar connection with Caroline isn’t entirely far-fetched.
As a devoted fan of “The Vampire Diaries,” I must admit that the twist in Klaroline’s relationship didn’t exactly preserve the purity of their romantic narrative. However, considering Klaus’ unique status as an Original hybrid and magical anomaly within the show’s lore, it wouldn’t be entirely unreasonable for his blood to possess such extraordinary properties. The bond between them was undeniably strong, and there seemed to be a hint of sire bonding that added depth to their connection.
Caroline Was the Key to Uniting Every Supernatural Species
In the series, Caroline was initially perceived as a secondary character, but fans believe she had a much larger role in the TVD universe. She was a composed and powerful vampire, capable of conceiving Gemini twins, and later established the Salvatore School. This leads to speculation that she might have been a chosen one, pivotal for uniting all supernatural beings.
In Mystic Falls and New Orleans, various supernatural beings such as werewolves, vampires, witches, hybrids, and others were often at odds with each other. However, Caroline Forbes, a vampire, had the potential to bring harmony among these species. Her significant roles in “The Vampire Diaries”, “Originals”, and “Legacies” demonstrated this ability. Unfortunately, she may not have received the recognition she deserved as the franchise’s most vital character.
