5. Improved Customization Options – Offering players greater freedom to personalize their character, home, and village, allowing for even more self-expression within the Animal Crossing universe.
6. Engaging Storylines and Quests – Introducing captivating narratives and quests that provide structure and direction to gameplay while still allowing for the casual, relaxing atmosphere that Animal Crossing is known for.

Massive Walkable Cities

Picture a game that combines the charm of Animal Crossing with the social dynamics of an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) environment. This dream scenario has been on my list for ages! I yearn to explore a sprawling urban center shared among players, distinct from my personal village, where I can encounter others live in action, exchange goods, converse, or simply enjoy each other’s company.

Absolutely! It’s quite an ambitious project, but if Nintendo manages to deliver the Switch 2 with enhanced hardware, it could definitely tempt me into purchasing it. Given that Cyberpunk 2077 is running on such a system, I believe this goal isn’t far-fetched at all.

Better Villager AI

Some of the most memorable moments in Animal Crossing come from interacting with the villagers. However, my relationships with Melba and Zucker, who have been my neighbors since the beginning, seemed to become dull in New Horizons. They didn’t seem to do much.

As a gamer, I can’t help but yearn for more independence and liveliness in the game world. I dream of villagers having the freedom to personalize their homes, organize events, and exhibit behaviors that mimic real life, making them feel more autonomous. And Remember how it added a unique flavor to the game? Well, I sure do, and I can’t wait to see it return.

Minigames

Among the main complaints about New Horizons was the absence of mini-games, making it seem less engaging than its predecessor, New Leaf, which offered delightful brain teasers and fun distractions.

Instead of having a straightforward board game with Brewster or an arcade machine outside Nook’s office, incorporating some easygoing mini-games throughout the game would have greatly enhanced the experience. These mini-games don’t need to be grand in scale; they simply should contribute to making the environment more engaging and fun.

Better Online Architecture

The smoothness of multiplayer interaction hasn’t been one of Animal Crossing‘s fortes. Even in the latest release, New Horizons, the method of connecting directly with other players led to prolonged delays each time someone joined or left. It’s a bit cumbersome, which contradicts the essence of a game designed for relaxation and warm feelings.

Redesigning our system with a robust server architecture could revolutionize everything. Going back to my initial idea of having a central digital metropolis, smooth internet connectivity would breathe life into this virtual world, making it appear contemporary and significantly enhancing its overall quality.

There’s likely a fresh installment of the popular game Animal Crossing underway in Nintendo’s labs, but until it’s officially announced, we just need to be patient. This series is one of Nintendo’s top-selling franchises for good reason.
